  • Such a great size and form factor!
This particular model is far superior to the previous models because it can get charged by a USB-C! Fantastic small device to power all of your tiny, electronics while camping and even more! I’m using it to run all of my fun!!

  • Very Handy
Versatile gadget, especially useful when paired with the bigger Ryobi ONE 18v batteries

  • Works great!!
A major improvement from Ryobi's first inverter. 2-18w USB ports, 1 USB-C 30w port, LED light, can charge batteries, comes with an 18w and 30w wall adapter. A must have! I ran a brushless full size fan for 75 mins on a 4ah 18v battery.

  • DOA
Would only stay on while the button was held down, tried with several batteries. I really wanted this to work for charging my laptop and Ryobi batteries on the go. Amazon and Ryobi support said to return it. Very disappointed. UPDATE: Bought another from Home Depot, worked a few times then sat for a few months, tried to use it today and it's doing the same thing as the defective one I originally had. Total garbage, don't waste your money. ... show more

  • Almost Perfect
I've wanted a small portable Ryobi battery charger for a long time. This enables us to easily charge Ryobi batteries with solar panels. I had their original inverter which was just a power output device. This one does both. I have no idea why they still sell the older model for the same price. Definitely get this inverter/charger instead. You can charge the battery over USB-C or you can output power out of that same USB-C port for 30W output. This can charge low power devices like phones, tablets, Nintendo switch, etc. It also has 2x USB-A outputs for about 18W output. Then of course you have the 150W AC outlet that can power most laptop chargers. It is a nice to have, but I typically only charge USB devices since higher powered devices drain batteries too fast. The coolest feature on this by far is the USB-C charging input. This means you can take most any portable folding solar panel with a USB port and you can charge Ryobi batteries with it. It's awesome for camping off the grid. This enables you to have renewable energy wherever you want. It's nice being able to bring my Ryobi chainsaw to cut firewood and have the ability to recharge the batteries in the middle of nowhere. It does take longer to charge, so it's not like you can use power tools non-stop. You will still want to budget energy wisely. It's also nice to be able to recharge flashlights, arc-lighters, radios, phones, etc. Those devices use much less energy so it's super easy to keep those devices topped off. Nerdy Technical Information (For people like me who want to know as much as possible) - For those not familiar with USB-C Power Delivery it is helpful to know how it works so you understand how to get the best charging performance when using solar panels. USB-C PD is 100% universal and compatible with all devices that utilize it. That means if your laptop charges with a USB-C cable to charge you can use it on this Ryobi inverter no problem. Most laptop USB-C chargers, like an Apple MacBook Pro charger, will output 5V, 9V, 15V, or 20V depending on the signal it gets from the receiving device. USB-C PD Chargers will always default to 5V for non USB-C PD so it doesn't fry generic USB-C devices. This Ryobi charger will request up to 9V if the charger supports it, but it will also work at 5V Battery charging performance: Option 1) ~5V 3A 15W (Using a typical USB-A to USB-C cable on an 18W port I measured charging input at 4.92V 2.72A 13.4W) Option 2) ~9V 3A 27W (Using a USB-C to USB-C cable on a USB-C PD output it pulled 9.03V 2.72A or 24.6W So the fastest you can charge this is at about 25W with PD. To put that in perspective the regular wall chargers for Ryobi batteries have a 60W output, so you can expect this to take a little over twice as long to charge than the standard charger. 4x as long if you just use a typical USB-A phone charger. That sounds bad, but in my opinion it is a very small sacrifice for making portable solar charging possible. This isn't intended to replace your regular Ryobi charger. Solar Charging: I am using the ECOFLOW 110W folding solar panel kit. I purchased two of these Ryobi Inverters/Chargers so I would be only consuming 50W of the solar panel's 110W capacity. However, keep in mind that solar panels are never consistent due to weather, angle of panels, etc. Realistically I can expect half its wattage if I don't want to constantly adjust the panels to face the sun perfectly. To output power from the solar panel you have to buy a few relatively cheap things: 1) Cable adapter to convert the solar cables to a typical DC barrel jack - Search "PolyEnergy Solar Connector to 8mmDC Power Plug with DC 5.5x2.1mm" on Amazon 2) Barrel jack splitter for multiple devices - Search "2-Pack 1 to 3 Way DC Power Splitter Cable, Plug 5.5mm x 2.1mm" on Amazon 3) USB-PD Modules to convert voltage from solar panel into safe charging voltage - Search "JacobsParts 45W 12V/24V DC to USB Type C PD" on Amazon (I purchased two of these) It's pretty simple to connect. Just plug the solar panels into item 1, then item 1 into item 2, then item 2 into item 3. Then from item 3 (the USB-PD modules) connect a USB-C to USB-C cable to the Ryobi charger and you are done. You are now charging at the max 25W you can with solar. Most small portable solar panels have at least a basic USB-A port built in if you bought one from a company like Anker. If you have one of those you can still at least get 15W output to slow charge a single battery. Last of all the reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have a 9AH battery and the red light blinks on the charger after some time which means there was an error during charging. It still charges it a bit, but my guess as to what is happening is it doesn't know it is charging a very large battery. It probably is a safety feature so it doesn't overcharge the smaller batteries. I don't know if the limitation is timer based or current based. It can still draw power from the 9AH battery no problem. It just won't fully charge a depleted 9AH battery all the way. I have to disconnect it and reconnect it to begin charging it more, so you have to babysit it to charge the large batteries. It charges 4AH and smaller without any issues. I haven't been able to test it with a 6AH battery. That is my only compliant. ... show more
