    • Db levels of BESTISAN Sound bar aren't quite loud enough

I purchased the BESTISAN sound bar for the TV in my RV trailer. The TV is mounted on an adjustable wall mount and most of the sound from the TV went directly into the wall behind the TV making it difficult to hear/understand. So, I needed something that would deliver the sound toward the front of the TV. After looking at reviews, I decided on this Bestisan Sound bar because of the good reviews and the rebate that was being offered. I purchased this sound bar for approximately $55 with the rebate. It is a nice, small and compact unit which fits onto a shelf I built underneath the wall mounted TV frame in the RV. It looks nice and the sound it much better than the sound being delivered by the TV. There is adequate bass and treble for any TV viewer and I am happy with a much better sound. The small criticism I have is the db level of sound that is being delivered by the bar. I measured the db level, using an app on my cell phone, from about 5 feet away from the sound bar. The sound bar is connected to the headphone jack on the TV. By using the headphone jack, you can control the volume with both the TV remote and the sound bar remote. For me, I just increased the volume on the sound bar to the max level (since there is no analog or digital display for the volume level of the sound bar, another little caveat that would have been nice to have) by holding down the sound bar's remote volume button for 4-5 seconds. Now, with the sound bar volume maxed out, I can control the level of sound with the TV remote and have a good understanding of the current level of sound by the digital display on the TV screen. Depending on the TV station you are watching, with the TV and sound bar maxed out, most sound levels were between 65 to 80 db's. I had a max peak of 87 db's at one point, but on average, again, depending on the station you are watching, the sound was around 70-75db's being delivered by the sound bar. I would have hoped for a little more "oomph" from this sound bar, but it is adequate for the 27 ft RV camper I use. Some programs/channels have a reduced volume level, which will decrease the volume level of the sound bar too. But, in most cases, the sound is adequate to hear from 5 to 12 foot away and now has a rich sound to it as compared to the TV's speaker. The set up is fairly simple and the instructions are good. The type of input to the sound bar you will be using is displayed by a color led on the front of the sound bar. When the sound bar is off, the led will turn to red. In most cases, you will have to remember what type of hook-up to your TV has been made and turn the led light to that color (headphones is yellow) so your sound bar will operate correctly. The sound bar comes with connector wire for the headphones jack and for optical connections. No USB or coaxial cable is provided. I also has two wall mount brackets with a paper template to mark where the brackets go. All in all, for the money I paid, I am satisfied, but I would have appreciated just a little more volume from this sound bar. If you have a bigger area to cover than a small room, (or like a small RV) you may want to look for a louder unit. ... show more

    • B+(A- ?) TV upgrade, excellent for the $ w/deal - It's not home theatre/house party material.
To be sure this is clear, I purchased and received the little 21" wide version in early March '22. (Sometimes these reviews get mixed in with others.) Also not sure if these reviews edit pricing statements, but I got mine for basically a sawbuck plus half a C-note. TL;DR Highlights: >Barely half of 60W power capable - that claim is an absolute LIE/horse apples. >Good sound - what one might hope for from a good TV in the first place. There is no sub-woofer, don't expect it to sound like there is one. Think Barry White singing in the room; yeah, that bass is there - but it ain't shaking the walls. >Compact, lightweight - easily mounted with TV to wall mount. [Using adapter & wall mount purchased separately] >My takeaway - I didn't over-expect; and this unit delivers well enough. I'm keeping it and finished mounting it. Good chance I'll purchase a 2nd unit for my mom. I cut the cord years ago and watch most of my media on my computer with it's 32" 4k monitor and reasonably respectable 2.1 sound system. Having an old hand-me-down TV available, I decided to add a basic 32" Vizio TV in my living room, mostly as a secondary media screen. The advantage I wanted to make the most use of was mounting it on a long extending articulated mount so I could pull it out from the wall and face it toward anywhere in the room I wish. Having accomplished that, and using it for a couple weeks, well, the crappy sound was starting to bother me. Long story shortened, decided to try this one. And it works just fine. It's not blowing my mind, and I'm not trying to watch a Michael Bay movie on it. The pseudo-surround sound does have a noticeable and pleasing effect for material designed for such things. Better yet I haven't noticed that those setting have had an adverse effect on material not designed for it; so I haven't needed to constantly change audio settings for different media types! And that's at the core of what I wanted: decent sound from a secondary TV that doesn't require me to fiddle with it all the time... and it was cheap. The only thing that really sticks in my craw about it is the bull-pucky 60W claim. The supplied power supply; a big honkin' 3"x2"x~2" brick of an ugly wall wart; has an output rating of 21V @ 1500ma. The basic electrical formula for power is V*I=P. [Volts * Amps = Watts] IF this soundbar could produce 60W of sound energy, the bug ugly wall wart brick could not come close to supplying it, unless of course the 31.5W it's capable of is energizing a small internal dilithium chamber, and any increase in external power will cause it to go to warp and I'll never see it again. ... show more
