  • Useful and reliable
Size: Power Inverter
I've had this inverter for over 9 years now, taken it on multiple cross country trips, including ones that have involved car camping where this was our only source of 110 AC power for days at a time. I originally bought it after such a trip where we found the 1 amp USB slots that were factory-installed in our SUV didn't put out enough juice to recharge my wife's iPad while she used it, or even get it to a full charge in a reasonable amount of time when she wasn't using it. Since then this inverter has powered laptops, portable DVD players, iPads, and phones, often all at the same time, while providing steady power and not overheating, thanks to its built-in fan. I think the few people who have had problems with this are either trying to use it with devices that draw too many amps, and/or their car's electrical system is limited and not designed for such an inverter (see further explanation below. So my advice is: 1. Stick to the devices it (and your car's electrical system) were designed to provide power for, and avoid amp-hungry appliances like power tools and coffee makers I've seen mentioned in the low reviews (SMH). 2. Check the specifications of your car's electrical system and its output from its cigarette lighter outlets before you buy this inverter, and before you jump to blaming this inverter when things go wrong. Car cigarette lighters are practically never designed to be on a circuit all by themselves, and depending on the car model the cigarette lighter could be on the same circuit only with low-draw components like dashboard lights and overhead interior lights (many of which would not necessarily even draw current at the same time that often), or it could be on the same circuit as a high-draw component like, say, your car's air conditioning system. That is going to make a big difference as to how much additional load that circuit your cigarette lighter is able to handle, and thus will affect what you can plug into the inverter. I personally have used this in a 2011 Toyota Venza, 2011 Chevy Malibu, 2017 Mazda 6, and a rental in 2016 that was either a Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon, and again, never had any issues in any of these cars, but other vehicles (including newer generations of these same models) may have the issues I mentioned above. ... show more

  • Versatile multi-port power source keeps electronics powered without getting too hot-metal housing
Size: Power Inverter
Bought this multi-port charger for a long car trip and it worked perfectly. Durable metal housing with small LED light that lets me know its getting power. Cooling fan is quiet and unit does not get too hot regardless of what I have plugged in. Kept my iPad, phone and laptop fully charged throughout trip without problem. Long power cord (designed for cigarette lighter) makes it easy to position box in front or back seat as desired. ... show more

  • Looks cheaply assembled, but more durable than it looks
Size: Power Inverter
Looks cheaply assembled, i.e. The USB ports are so misaligned with the metal front plate that it actually scratches whatever USB plug you plug in. Does not have a fuse inside of the cigarette lighter adapter. This broke within a couple of weeks. While it's still looks cheaply assembled and the USB ports are still misaligned, it turns out the fuse between the lighter socket to the battery went out, so this didn't actually break when I reversed the polarity accidentally, as I thought it had. I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it has reversed polarity protection since it did take the lights down and blew a fuse that I had connected to the socket, but at least it survived the incident which is more than I can say for a lot of other inverters. Once I realized it still works I tested it out with a 100 Watt fluorescent bulb. It passed with flying colors. So the way I see if the pros are these: Provides plenty of power at a very low price 300Watts It's a relatively small for the wattage provides Doesn't seem to have a problem with picky loads like fluorescent lightbulbs, even big ones. Includes two USB ports And the cons are: The fan does not kick-in only when there's a heavy load, it's always on when the inverter is on, and it is loud The cigarette lighter plug has no fuse in it (I do not know whether there is a fuse inside of the unit itself) I live off-grid for several reasons, so I always like to have plenty of power inverters around. Although I prefer to use pure sinewave inverters, these little cheap square wave inverters come in handy, and this one has pretty good performance, and even survived brief polarity reversal (there was a 25 amp fuse between the socket and the battery) There are lots of portable power sources that sell for hundreds of dollars that basically consist of a cheap universal SLA 12v battery, a charger and a power inverter, you could build one of your own item would using this item as the power inverter and maybe a couple small Odyssey motorcycle dual-use deep-cycle and starting batteries like the 12AH PC545 Odyssey PC545 Powersports Battery use a charger like the Schumacher Schumacher SC-600A SpeedCharge High Frequency Battery Charger with quick disconnect terminals, and you have yourself a portable power supply that can be recharged quickly, and be deep cycled. If you put a 20 W solar panel Ramsond® 20 Watt 20W W Solar Panel Module 12V Nominal Output RV Boat Battery Charger Charging Trickle Boat and add a cheapo 7 A charge controller Sunforce 7 Amp Charge Controller you have yourself portable emergency power for a fraction of what a completed solution would cost. That is what I will be using this unit for, since it is too noisy for just charging my phone when I am in a car, and its a good match for the above application. ... show more

  • Works great, no issues, hasn’t over heated
Size: PD 65W
No issues yet with this product. Works well with my laptop. Just be weary of the size of your plugs. Apple’s products take up a substantial amount of space. Hasn’t overheated with extended use.

  • Perfect for blowing up mattress while camping!
Size: Power Inverter
I bought this to blow up my queen size air mattress while camping; our air mattress plugs into a wall outlet and automatically inflates when you turn the dials. Haven't gone camping yet but tried it out in my driveway and it works great! Amazed with how well it works for the price. I never even write reviews but I am so excited because this is exactly what I was looking for. If you are looking for something to blow up your air mattress while camping, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (Full details: we plugged it into my fiancé's Ram 1500 truck but I would assume it works the same with a car/sedan) Hope this helps someone, HAPPY CAMPING! ... show more

  • Perfect addition for working in the car
Size: Power Inverter
I had an old dc inverter that had 1 usb port and two outlets but the fan was so noisy. I got this after taking a look at reviews online and it's perfect for working in the car. Two regular outlets and two usb ports and the internal fan is barely audible. It's also nice and compact so it takes up very little space. ... show more
