My teenage chicks love it, but I know I’m gonna have to replace the roost with something wider when they get bigger for it to stay comfortable for them. But it’s a great value for the money, easy to assemble and pretty sturdy.

The perch was very easy to assemble and attached easily to our existing chicken run. I didn’t need to use the screws to attached to our run poles. The clamps tightened enough to keep it from moving. Our chickens love sitting on our new perch.

I am a 66 female and I put it together and in the coop. Easy as pie! Chickens prefer it over their old one, rungs are wood and smooth. The height is just right.

    • Chickens won't use either of the two we bought.

The chickens don't like this. We have two pens with over 28 chickens total, and none will use it. I think the rungs are too thin. Chickens like a solid grip when they are up high, which is why they prefer their hen house roofs. The rungs on this unit (we got two) are smooth and small in diameter, so slippery. Sure, it could be roughed up, tapes added, etc. but seriously, I bought this to be user-friendly right out of the box. Instead, it was a complete waste of money.
