Paired this up with an Okuma Cavalla 5Nii 2speed reel and while it's a little long for it, it's an outstanding bottom fishing setup for offshore BUT the rod is long enough to put in a rod rigger for trolling and gets the line away from the side of the boat so you can open up your spread and stay untangled. ... show more

This is an excellent product for the price and just what I was looking for ! Inspect it carefully when you first get it, I did have an issue with the quality of the eyes on the rod. Some of them were not smooth and would have been abrasive to the fishing line. But Amazon took care of it for me.

This is a great trout, crappie and perch rod made. (Under $150) when used with a 1000 or 2000 reel loaded with 6lb braid and 4lb fluorocarbon leader this combo can easily cast 1/64th oz lures. The reason for my one star review is the reel seat part that screws down to the actual reel so it stays in place came so stuck it will not budge and the pole is useless. I am extremely aggravated about this because I was looking forward to using this pole.
