The stand only supports the side it’s on. It’s hard if not impossible for it to stand on its own, when sitting on your lap or any non flat perfect surface. Many of these cases have this design now. It’s not practical. But this is beautiful. I have dropped it a few times on the carpet from the couch while sitting. I have a crack in the inside corner. My iPad has no damage. The case itself is pretty sturdy. I mistakenly thought that this had a glass protector for the screen but it doesn’t. I had to purchase a separate screen protector. I got the glitter rose gold case. It’s prettier in the picture than in real life, it’s not actually glitter, it’s printed paper to look like glitter. I wouldn’t have paid $18 for it if I’d known it was this cheaply made but it’s a nice starter case to protect my iPad that is cheap to use, until I can upgrade. ... show more
