It is a good anchor for small craft but the rope is useless. It snags on anything, kinks up in an instant and starts to curl and knot up after its first use. Do yourself a favor, buy another rope at home depo and throw this one out, It will save you a lot unneeded frustration and lost time untangling it. We have a 14.5 ft 80 lb canoe. After reading the reviews, I felt the 1.5 lb anchor would meet our needs. In calm water with no wind it does fine. However, if those conditions change, it does not hold. The anchor itself is well made, great design and good quality. My advise is to spend the extra $10 and get the 3.5 lb.
