Very easy to put it together and nice and sturdy I have seen some videos where they glue the frames in addition to the provided nails and screws. The instructions did not say to use glue and I did not. Even without glue was tight

    • This is a wonderfully crafted, easy to assemble, aesthetically pleasing hive.
Very good value for the money. My only suggestion, and it is an important one, is that the top cover should have ~2-3" space in overlapping/extending out from the top board and top board should have a slot cut in the trim for ventilation and moisture control for the hive as is typical of most hives. I was able to cut these slots but not the best solution. Would otherwise be 5 star rating (and probably deserves it in spite of this design flaw). ... show more

5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say enough great things about this hive. Literally ZERO complaints! Packaged good, auhmazing quality wood, easy to assemble (recommend watching the brands assembly video - QR in the instructions), lots of wax. Lots. More than expected - coated on every inch of the housing. Tips: pull out your rubber mallet, a scrap 2x4, a drill, pneumatic or manual staple gun, & screw driver. Also you’ll need wood glue. The bees I have are from a swarm my mentor caught a few days ago. Since I had this set up before hand I put it in this hive. Majority have already made it their home just a few scraggliers left. This hive was actually part of a bigger package but decided to split it to make it two hives. I’m really excited for this and I’m honestly going to buy more parts for my hives. This is a great hive and I do suggest it wholeheartedly. I did use wood glue and a staple gun to put it together. The wood for the frames do split easily so it’s better to use a staple gun and wood glue. Other then that it’s a great hive! ... show more

I am new to bee keeping. This is the second hive I have ever purchased. The first was from a farm store last year. This one seems like it is of a much better quality. I love the wax coating. It took a few hours to assemble, but it was not difficult. The price difference made up for the hours of assembly. The farm store hive was pine that needed to be painted in order to last in our climate. So, preparation was about the same overall. I am very impressed with this hive so far.
