  • Would purchase again
Wow this is a big bed and it takes up a lot of room. but it also creates a lot of storage and makes children very happy. If your space is tight and this will replace several pieces of furniture. It takes two people to put this together mostly because of the size. This bed comes with railing completely around the top bunk which helps to prevent the child from falling. This was important to us as the child on the top does tend to sleep on the edge of the bed. Now she sleeps more in toward the center but often she is up against the railing and we are grateful to have it there. The steps are big and the drawers are same size as the step and provide ample storage. There is a book nook under the steps and the lower bed is high enough from the ground that you also have storage room under the bed. The bed wasn't overly complicated to assemble. It arrived within a few days in three boxes. There are a LOT of pieces. The instructions could have been clearer but you just had to stop and think about what you were doing. If you rush through putting this together you will make a mistake. But take your time and read the directions. Otherwise, the bed wasn't too difficult. It came with everything you need to put it together except the tools. This bed IS solid wood and extremely sturdy. The only concern is the slats seem rather thin and a few did have knots in them. But our children are both under 50 pounds, so we aren't concerned yet, besides there are so many slats that I'm not worried. The children love this bed. They think the drawers are awesome. The steps stretch the imagination as they transition from the stage to a mountain side to tree limbs and many other things. This bed set is pretty awesome. The kids love it and the adults are very happy with these beds. Overall this is a valued purchase. If I had a chance to choose again this would still be the bed set that we would purchases. **I'm having trouble with my phone right now but I will be posting pictures as soon as I get it fixed*** ... show more

  • Sturdy and great quality assembly
Color: White
Very impressed with the assembly on this product - though it's not quick to assemble - it's done very well and at a high quality. I've assembled lots of furniture in my time, and this was probably the best quality as far as putting a more complicated piece of furniture together. It's a very nice quality bunk bed, very sturdy and looks really nice. It's nice that you can choose which side the stairs are on since I wasn't even sure until I was halfway putting it together which way I wanted to go. The drawers fit and work very well, the safety features are good and the height and spacing between the bunks is just right. The screws are very long and strong - a good sign of the sturdiness as well. The packaging came in 4 pieces. The labeling on the pieces was a little confusing - but eventually I figured out what was what. The stairs is definitely more inviting to the kids than a ladder - and because it can carry quite a bit of toys and things, it doesn't hog the space. Excellent bunk bed. ... show more

  • Fantastic Product!
I found the quality of this bunk bed set to be excellent. It is all solid wood -- not a single piece of pressboard. Every piece was straight and true, and fit exactly as it should. I also think that the company's packaging engineers and packers in the plant should get a raise. I have NEVER seen a complex product with such carefully designed and executed packaging. Every piece was thoroughly protected and arrived in perfect condition. My son and granddaughter helped me with the assembly (the bed is for her and her younger brother when they come to visit), and my son was so impressed that he encouraged me to write this review. The grandkids adore the beds and steps, and couldn't wait to spend the night! Assembly takes a significant amount of time; we did the beds one day and the steps the next day. The instructions advise against using power tools for assembly. However, I used my drill motor with the clutch at a low setting to drive the fasteners most of the way in, and did the final tightening by hand to avoid stripping out the threads. If I had done the whole assembly by hand, I think my wrist would have been in bad shape; There are a LOT of long screws. Overall, the set seems VERY sturdy and quite nice looking. The large amount of storage in the steps is a big bonus. All our friends and relatives who have seen it are very impressed, and incredulous at the price. I heartily recommend it. ... show more

  • Great bunk bed for the price
This is a good solid bunk bed with just a couple flaws: 1. The railing for the steps feels quite flimsy. We have to tell our son not to lean on that railing out of fear that it will snap and he'll go flying. 2. Likewise, the top rail (the long rail that keeps someone from falling off the top bunk) feels a bit flimsy. We're not worried about that one. It seems safe, but there should probably be two additional vertical supports to keep the long rail from feeling so flimsy. 3. There were one or two cases where I had to create pilot holes and insert screws in a location other than the one specified in the directions. This didn't affect the look or function of the bunk bed, but it's annoying to come across that type of error. As far as assembly goes, assume that you might have to spend 6-8 hours on this if you're doing it yourself (and you'll probably need someone to help you hoist the top bunk). The packaging and instructions are fantastic and the assembly is quite easy (in my opinion), but there is SO MUCH to assemble that it just takes a long time. There are literally hundreds of things to screw, attach, tighten, etc. I started building this in the afternoon thinking "people say it took them three hours, this will be quick." Then it was 11pm and our kids were still up because I was still finishing it. If someone posts a video of themselves putting this together without any help (other than someone to help them lift the top bed) in three hours, I will send you many Schrute Bucks. P.S. One key piece was broken right out of the box. I sent an email to the company and they shipped a replacement piece for free very quickly. I'm not going to let that alter my 4-star rating, but it's something you should know about. ... show more
