I've been trying to find a good electric blanket for several weeks now. Tried Westinghouse - slippery and poorly designed control. Sent it back. Tried Sunbeam - control was O.K but the blanket heated very unevenly and didn't seem to have any heat at all at the foot end. Tried Beautyrest - third time the charm!. The blanket is like corduroy on steroids - doesn't move at all on my top sheet and is very soft. The control is the best I've ever seen with 20 heat levels and this nifty preheat button that zaps a blast of warmth very quickly. And you can scroll up or down simply by holding the button down - not all of the controls have that. And lastly, it heats from the very top to the very bottom - no more cold feet.     • Great toasty warm blanket....But for some small exceptions

Been using this blanket for a week or so. Yes this blanket keeps you toasty at relative lower settings (for me 2-3) and will preheat nicely, but gets VERY warm quickly on preheat. There do not seem to be hot spots and the warmth is welcome as it is snowy here now. Things to note, the control is NOT as pictured and is hard to see at night as it lays flat on my bedside table and the buttons are not illuminated. There are 20 heat settings though I cannot imagine using the upper heat settings which should be labeled bake and broil. The blanket is soft and lightweight and you can easily feel the wires within. Please note that this and any other electric blanket I've owned has a failing. Assuming you order the size your mattress is, the heat wires only extend to a bit less than the edge of your mattress. When you the get in and the blanket is lifted to cover you, the edges and several inches more near the edge will not be heated. As I have a queen bed, I order a king. I do NOT tuck in any area with wires and they do not reach the floor, but now the bed shared with hubby has warmth to the very edge and some beyond. Additionally, for some reason the electric blanket industry fully supports the maintenance of cold shoulders. Again, like other brands I've owned, the warming wires only go to within about a foot of the top end of the blanket. As I am short, for me I can merely snuggle down further. For my taller husband, I put on a top fleece blanket that will help keep his shoulders from getting cold. This specific electric blanket has one other feature that discourages intimate marital relations in mid-winter. You see each side is plugged in separately and the wires for each side are not connecting, this is good....BUT. .. there is a 6-8" gap in the heated area going down the centerline of the bed. It is just big enough that you definitely know if you are crossing the midline of your bed to snuggle with your significant other. The only good thing about that is the cat is also aware of this cold stripe in the middle of the bed, so at least the cat is not in the way. ... show more

The blanket is good looking and really works well. We both use a setting below the midpoint and have it on just to warm up the bed. It doesn’t take long; the preheat function is very efficient. I love that I can set the control to shut off in just one hour in case I fall asleep while it’s on. On the negative side, it’s very hard to find the right button to push in the dark, as they are barely raised above the surface. ... show more

I don't know what has happened to companies that produce electric blankets! My expectation of any "warming blanket" is for the heat to be greater than my normal body temperature of 97 -98 degrees . I don't expect first degree burns, but I do expect heat. This blanket has been on for 2 1/2 hours on the 20 setting. I placed a thermometer under the blanket, and it never reached 65 degrees. I followed the directions on pre-heating and disconnecting etc. (First time I have ever had to use directions to turn on an electric blanket). I changed the temperature to a different setting and the control box is much warmer than the blanket. I read the reviews and the adjectives used were toasty, hot, really warm..... It is like expecting to drink your morning coffee straight from the coffee maker and it's cold. This blanket is definitely going back. I think I will hit some garage sales or estate sales to see if I can't find a real warming blanket. ... show more

Love this electric blanket. The last one I bought has lasted 16 years. Still working, decided to purchase another because I did not want to be without one. Light weight, washes well, does not pill. I do not dry in the dryer. Great product.

    • Controls may be confusing

Purchased for my mother-in-law who has restless leg issues. She requested a heated blanket, and this one seemed like a great value for the price. We were not disappointed- the color is lovely (got the simple beige) and the feel is super soft and comfortable. The blanket heats well and very quickly. It seems to hold the heat nicely. Where we had some issues was in the controls. The controls allow for a heat setting and a timer setting. MIL was very confused as to which was which, and it caused her a lot of stress. The paper/written instructions are done in a style that shows multiple models in one sheet- which was not helpful. More photos or illustrations would have been easier to follow. Here’s the deal: There is a 2 digit read out for timer (hours) and temp setting- but no easy indication as to which you are looking at. You start with temp- set a number with up/down controls. Great. Then you flip to sleep setting and the readout shows 1h, that you can increase and decrease as needed. Seems ok… until you wonder, “did I set it for 2 hours? Or 3.” There is no countdown. So you can see heat setting, and the timer setting but not what it was previously set to. Workable for most people? Probably. But it was a whole thing for my MIL and my husband to figure out. ... show more
