  • Do NOT go down in size!
Size: 7 Color: Charcoal
UPDATE: I have a couple of pairs of Bearpaw pile-lined boots, and they’re comfortable and they’re good quality. So, I trust the Bearpaw brand. I returned the size 7, and I ordered a size 8. In the 8, the tip of my big toe is where it should be, but it has a high toe box, so it felt so large, much larger than the 7. I have to really tighten them. They don’t have a 7.5 in the color I like. I’ve walked less than 2 miles in them in two days. Tightened up, they fit alright; but, the footbed feels cupped (not fitting to my foot) and doesn’t have the cushion I was hoping to have in a shoe that I bought for walking/hiking about 4 miles a day for an upcoming trip. It’s a cute design, but not totally comfortable. Original review: I consistently wear a 7.5 in everyday shoes. (I go a 1/2 size up for running and hiking shoes.) Following the product description and some reviews that said to go down a size, I ordered a size 7. Just got them. They’re too small! :( The felt like they’ll be Uber comfortable, at the right size, so I ordered a size 8. I’ll update my review when I get the replacement order. ... show more

  • High quality for the price, but they run big!
Size: 8 Color: Taupe
I really like these hiking shoes, but they were big on me. I usually wear an 8 in dress shoes/boots and an 81/2 in athletic shoes and I have a wider foot, so I thought an 8 would be fine maybe a tad tight. Well, I definitely could have gone down to a 71/2 maybe even a 7. I’m going to try out a really good insert because the one they provide isn’t the softest and doesn’t have good arch support at all, so I’m hoping once I do that, they will be fine. They are really nice and rugged-looking and the tread appears to be great which is what I am most excited about. I’ve been slipping and sliding in regular athletic shoes on the trails for far too long. So for the price, these seem to be much higher quality than expected. Just order at least a half size (maybe even a whole size) down. I’m not sure if someone with a narrow foot could make them work. ... show more

  • Got the job done
Size: 8 Color: Taupe
So the overall comfort of the show is good. I used them on my last hike and they did what they were supposed to do. The only downside is they run big. I wear an 8 or 8 1/2 depending on the shoe and the 8 was too big even with two pair of socks. The area around the toe swallowed my food and I don’t have narrow feet. For the price, I can’t complain at all especially because I hiked over 3 miles on various terrain. ... show more

  • I love the way these fit BUT...
Size: 9 Color: Natural
First, I would like to say these fit great - probably the most comfortable shoes of this type I have ever had - I have wide feet and often find that toe boxes are too shallow. Shoes of this type often feel clunky and heavy, but these fit great from the very first time I wore them. I have worn them on ice and found them to have fairly good traction and they are water resistant. BUT I am disappointed in how quickly the heels are showing significant wear. I have worn them probably 5 days a week since purchasing on 1/9/23, walking several miles most days. The "rubber" the heels are made of does feel softer than most, but I did not expect them to wear so quickly. I have not had this problem with other shoes, although I do wear out the heels eventually on most shoes. Please note that in the picture you can see where the darker outer layer has worn quickly to the lighter colored inner layer which is quite thin. If it weren't for this problem, these shoes would get 5 stars for me. As it is, I will probably need to replace them within a few months Edited to add: BEARPAW contacted me and offered to replace these for me or refund my money. I thought about it, but decided to keep them and use them as long as I can, simply because they are SO COMFORTABLE!! I really appreciate their offer and hope they will revise their heel/sole material, because I would love another pair! ... show more

  • Hiking shoes
Size: 8.5 Color: Taupe
Shoes are comfy and have great grip on slopes. I don't like that the shoes are low cut and dirt gets in. Shoes run slightly big.

  • Nice shoe
Size: 10 Color: Charcoal
Loved this shoe but ran way to big. I wear a 10 and this was way to loose and long. Good quality shoe! Well made.

  • Good for the money
Size: 8 Color: Charcoal
Size runs big ie I'm an 8 in Nike and Skechers but in Bearpaw a 7 or 7.5 would be the right size. Even with 2 pairs (one reg cotton+one thick knitted) of socks and the plantar insole that I use they are big. If they had been high on the ankle, more boot-like, probably the heel wouldn't slip out and size difference would be less noticeable but it's not the case as the ankle opening of the shoe is quite open. They do not have arch support therefore foot slides to the point of the shoe. After one day usage these started to be more comfortable. Therefore, I suggest you double check your size range for rhis brand before purchase. Otherwise, the quality seems good and overall they are fine for the money. Having said this, I recommend them if a cushioned foot support is not a must on your choice. ... show more

  • Reviews were helpful
Size: 9 Color: Taupe
I like this shoe! I should have checked the reviews before ordering, because I would have sized down as so many said. I’m typically an 8.5 and bought the 9, because I have wide feet and it’s typically better to go up. But these have LOTS of room. Maybe even a little too long. But I like to wear them with thick ankle socks and they’re perfect if I’m on my feet all day and thus experience swelling in my feet and ankles by the end of the day. Would recommend, especially for the price! Very comfortable and hold up to wear so far. ... show more
