  • Going back to Professor Fuzzyworths
Style: Beard Wash
This shampoo sucks. It has a strange consistency where it comes out in jelly-like blobs floating in a slick pool of thin liquid. It's almost like my batch wasn't properly mixed. For the first several times I used it, I lost most of the shampoo down the drain because it would slide off my hand before I could spread it around. I found that if I vigorously shook the bottle before pouring it out it was more manageable. The 2nd issue is the lathering quality, or rather lack thereof. I always had to use WAY more than the directed amount (2-3X more) to get enough to lather up. This meant the bottle was gone far quicker than it should have been. Lastly, the smell is pretty off-putting. I'm sure they market it as 'woodsy' or 'earthy', but I call it 'wet-forest-mud, covered in mint'. It has a minty smell, but I suspect that was added to mask the underlying damp-earth smell, which is not very pleasant. I won't be getting it again. I've ordered another block of Professor Fuzzyworths, which lasted me six months last time, lathered up incredibly easily and smelled great. ... show more

  • shampoo that creates dry skin under beard
Style: Beard Wash
Beard hair is thicker than head hair but it's the exact same chemical composition, just like a thumbnail is thicker than a fingernail but it's made up of the same material. I decided to grow a beard and watch some YouTube videos and impulsively bought beard specific products before doing any research. I already knew that most cosmetic beauty claims are B.S. and I know not to trust any person as an expert advisor if they are trying to sell me something, but this time I got suckered. Trust scientific studies done by major universities and hospitals that have a good reputation. Never trust claims made by someone trying to sell you something (talking to myself here). Lesson learned. Also, the guys promoting this product recommend not washing beard hair everyday. I exercise and sweat and it's not sanitary for me to do that, so I buy quality shampoo with moisturizer and it works better than beard wash. ... show more

  • Overall good product, not so good packaging.
Style: Beard Wash
Overall this product isn’t bad. It’s a beard wash, it does what it’s supposed to do and washes my beard. It smells good but the smell is very strong at the same time. When I put this on my face it invades my nostrils with tea tree mintiness. I’ve been using this about a week now and haven’t really found anything about the product itself to complain about. (The smell thing was a half-joke). Its easy to lather on and easy to rinse off. A little goes a long way, which I like. My biggest and only real complaint about this beard wash is the packaging. The bottle looks smaller in person than it does on amazon. Past that, the bottle is made from pretty thick and stiff plastic so it can be kind of hard to squeeze product out of it. If this had a pump type lid or a thinner plastic bottle that I could squeeze easier, it would be much better overall. ... show more

  • First beard shampoo.
Style: Beard Wash
This is my first foray into beard washes, so I have nothing to compare this to. I have an issue always expecting to get a larger amount of a product, even though the listing clearly says how much is in the bottle. That's my issue not the sellers or the product, but I'm always disappointed by the size/amount of the product. It is relatively small for how much of it you might be using to wash your beard. I can see myself getting maybe 15-20 washes from this. The lather is just ok. You have to really put on a lot to get your beard sudsy, and feel like you're actually giving it a good scrubbing. The scent is quite nice. I'm not sure what to say about the condition of my beard after I use it. It seems as if it has a similar feeling to using standard shampoo. Not any softer, cleaner feeling or anything, but not bad by any means. For the price, and the amount you get, I think I would be more interested in maybe taking a shot at a DIY beard wash long term. ... show more

  • Clean Beard, Nice Scent
Style: Beard Wash
At this point I have only used it a few times since receiving it, but so far it seems to work really well. My beard does feel cleaner and it has been markedly less dry. The quality of the product seems high end, the lather is nice, the smell is refreshing but not overpowering, and I like the fact that it is made with mostly natural ingredients. I have had a beard for years now, but recently started getting dry skin/dandruff from it. My wife gave me anotehr brand of beard wash and balm for Christmas, but it smelled awful. I suppose it was supposed to be woodsy or outdoorsy, but it smelled like tobacco or cigarettes to me. I ended up just tossing it out. So I decided that I would give a different dedicated beard wash a try. I was already using a natural beard balm and a wax at times, but didn't think too much about a dedicated beard wash. This product was on a few "best of lists" so I figured I would give it a shot. So far so good. Even though I have only used it about 3 times so far, my beard does seem better for it. As of now, I would recommend it to anyone that wants to have a cleaner beard and doesn't want a heavy product feel or smell. ... show more

  • Great wash for a clean beard
Style: Beard Wash
I bough this to try another brand for beard wash. I saw the tea tree oil scent and gave it a shot (I really like the way tea tree oil smells). It takes a few days of washing with it, but I noticed a difference in beard softness when using this. Smell I was slightly disappointed in, it has a much stronger peppermint smell then the tea tree oil. Not bad, as it smells clean and fades to a subtle scent when out of the shower, but I was hoping for more tea tree oil then peppermint. Still, I was happy with it making my beard softer. Overall a good product and something I'd buy again. ... show more

  • My husband loves it
Style: Beard Wash
My husband has cystic acne that flares up and his skin under his beard gets easily irritated. This wash smells great, very herbal, and is soothing. Used after another face wash, his acne has settled down a little. Not cured, but much better, and we've tried several things, including more expensive prescriptions from dermatologists. All in all it's a good product! ... show more

  • Great Smell
Style: Beard Wash
This makes my husbands beard smell so good and minty fresh because let's be honest they can get stinky. I bought this with a silicone scrub brush and it lathers really good.
