I've been using a measuring cup and silicone basting brush for years. Saw this and gave it a go. Extremely pleased with this. Seals up nicely, so sauce stays put if you knock it over. Also keeps bugs out while sitting outside grilling. Basting brush works perfectly and the stainless pot holds up to a full LARGE bottle of sauce. Multiple brushes (two different sizes) are nice and this being stainless allows you to keep it on or near the grill to keep the sauce warm. My friends and family have been raving about the juicy, flavorful results I've been serving up ever since I started using this baster. This stainless steel basting pot is a great barbecue accessory that I wouldn't want to be without. It comes with 3 heat resistant silicone brushes for basting that attach to the leak-proof lid. The pot allows me to heat barbecue sauce, hot sauce or teriyaki sauce, melt butter or infuse olive oil with herbs, garlic and onions right on the griddle or grill. Who wants dry chicken or pork chops, right? With this baster, every piece of chicken is juicy, pork chops are tender and full-flavored. I can baste Shish-Kabob with Teriyaki sauce, brush grilled meat balls with salsa, and layer hamburgers with my favorite steak sauce. As it sits on the back corner of the grill (or griddle), it keeps my sauces and bastes nice and warm so there's no more running inside to reheat. Plus, the lid keeps everything neat and tidy. I am very upset. I bought this as a birthday gift. I intentionally chose this product over other similar ones, as it was advertised as having 3 brushes. Upon receipt and opening it to check the contents, there was only ONE brush.

I ordered this for my husband. He grills year-round. He currently has an older, open basting pan that is supposed to be usable on the grill. It has a separate brush. I like this one better because the shape will be more stable on the grill (the old one was sauce-pan style), it has a silicone handle as opposed to the metal handle on his old one, and the brush is built right into the lid. I also like that the lid configuration makes it possible to store extra sauce right in the container (though for food safety, that should probably not be done with sauce that the brush has been dipped back into after touching raw meat). The lid is a good fit with a silicone seal, but it isn't so tight that you would want to risk putting it where it could be knocked over in the refrigerator. The fact that the brushes are removable, there are two extra flat brushes in addition to the round one, and that the whole thing is dishwasher safe are all great reasons to love this basting pot. ... show more
