  • Small off grid situation
Style: Standard Size: 100Ah 12V
EDIT: Just received my 3rd battery, plan on using that one on its own on a separate solar setup, replacing some CG2 golf cart batteries that are at the end of their lives. As of today, I now own 2 of these batteries, they work great for me. I purchased the first one last summer, I'm using it on a small off grid solar system, not grid tied. I added the second one just today, hooked up in parallel to keep it at 12 volts but now with 200 amp hours. Since these are LiFePO4 batteries, it's OK to add a new battery to one that is nearly a year old. I contacted the good folk at BattleBorn and confirmed it was fine to do and to confirm the best method of tying them together, which is making sure both are charged fully then to make a parallel connection, connect both negatives together, then connect both positives together. These types of batteries are expensive, but if you take into consideration the lifespan of the batteries and the fact that you can use up to 100% of the battery capacity, (though it's still best to not use 100%) these are ultimately a bargain in the long run. One bit of advice, assuming you are using a MPPT charge controller, if you do run the battery down where the internal BMS cuts it off, the MPPT charge controller will not begin to charge the battery if it can't detect the battery, you will need to "jump start" the battery using another power source, we use a portable 12 volt battery jumper, the kind you use to jump start a car battery, once the MPPT charge controller sees some voltage on the battery, it will then allow the battery to be charged. I really like this battery, it's safe, it's reliable, it's lightweight, no maintenance required, it's bulletproof in the sense that you don't have to baby it (don't really shoot it 🤣). ... show more

  • Performance, reliability, convenience. Excellent product!
Style: Standard Size: 100Ah 12V
I am very pleased with this battery. I have had it for 6 months and it is great. Very reliable, zero maintenance. I have it hooked up to a 300w solar system on my camper van/RV and it charges very fast. I even hooked it up to a 450/900 watt space heater and ran it for 1.5hr on the lower 450 watt setting via a 600w (1200w surge) inverter. It raised the temperate of the RV interior from 55F to 67F in 1 hour (outside temp was 52F with @ 50% humidity in the evening). This was just a test I ran to see what it was capable of. While it did discharge the battery, it performed flawlessly during that time and helped me to learn about how the battery reacts to large loads. The next day I checked on the battery @ noon and it was at full charge from the morning sun. The battery also performed perfectly on a 3k mile, 1 week road trip. It powered the inverter, which fed to 6 LED ceiling lights, a water pump, USB outlets keeping two cell phones, two laptops, one SLR camera, one Dometic fridge running 24/7 without any drop in temperature. Food was always cold. Cold beer in the middle of the desert anytime you wanted. I plan on adding to my solar bank soon with another Battle Born battery and a more powerful inverter so I can run a 1200w water heater and improve the space heater's performance (only as backup in case of extreme cold). I have not contacted customer support yet for any reason but based on other reviews I am confident that area is just as good as the battery itself. I highly recommend this product. Update (2020): My Battle Born battery was experiencing some minor issue one year in. I would lose power for 2-3 seconds once a day or every couple days. The power would turn off and come right back on again. I contacted Battle Born and they said it was caused by the BMS (battery management system) in batches produced around the time I purchased my battery. I shipped the battery back to them (they paid for shipping) and they sent me a new replacement battery which has been working perfectly for 2 years now. Their customer support is top notch as is their warranty. I will not be buying any other battery except Battle Born as my experience with this battery and the company has been excellent. ... show more

  • Great Quality
Style: Standard Size: 100Ah 12V
Put these in the RV. They have worked very well and we are happy to move away from our wet / lead acid batteries. Really liked the sturdy side post connectors for the wires hooking up to the batteries. Very sturdy. I returned another leading brand because the top posts were so small and flimsy I was having a hard time making all of my connections. Be aware that, for an RV application, you may need to upgrade your controller if you current controller does not have a option to support lithium batteries. My neighbors controller had a switch he could flip for going to lithium. My RV did not. I spent about 250 on my replacement controller and self installed it which was relatively easy in a WFCO power center. Just follow standard safety protocol working with electricity. Some RV owners also need to address an upgrade to their alternator set up if it charges the house batteries and is not set up for the higher voltage of lithium batterie(s). I did not have that issue so I have no insights into that. Lastly if you have solar panels make sure your solar control panel supports lithium. Mine did but sone do not. You can most likely upgrade that too for a couple of hundred bucks if needed. You may also need a lithium charger! They do not come fully charged and there is a requirement to fully charge them before installing to insure proper discharge going forward. The conversion could be a bit pricey, but for me not worrying my batteries making it through the day / night was well worth it. I have had zero battery angst since this upgrade. ... show more
