I didn’t know these things existed till my seldom-driven car battery died in the garage. The dealership service manager recommended this for vehicles like mine that are rarely used. The dealer would have sold me one for 4X the price of this. This price was good! It works great, and is easily detached to drive the car. I bought a Battery Tender like this in 1995 and It still is working great!!! I bought this one as a backup because I figured the older would knock Out and I didn’t need to be without one..These do work great and save your battery…My Goldwing in 20 years is on only its second Battery…It’s been plugged in and working since 1995…Can’t beat that…..!!! ... show more

    • Made of metal and works great
NOTE: This Deltran Battery Tedder Plus is not a deep charge charger. For deep charging you need a different model. And this charger works only for six cell lead acid batteries. It cannot be used where it is exposed to rain or snow nor in excessive heat. I gave this battery charger-maintainer five stars because it works great and its made of strong metal not cheap plastic. A pair of red and blue LED's indicate what the charger is doing and problems with the battery being charged. The only limitation is that it can be used only with the included battery connection wires. For the price this charger is a winner. You must use the included battery connector to connect the charger to the battery. The connection wires have an electronic control that provides safety and overload protection functions. Connecting directly to the battery with wires cause the charger to give the reverse polarity signal which is alternating blue and red flashing LED's. My only complaint is that the user manual description of LED signals is confusing. Connection to the battery is simple but it takes a lot of time to read in tiny print what the different flashing or steady LED combinations mean. The company needs to provide a table that defines what the pair of LED's indicate. Update: I did use this charger-maintainer on a large deep discharge battery that I use to run a sprayer pump. The battery was discharged 50% or more. It took overnight for the charger to fully recharge the battery which was a surprise because the user instruction say the the red charge light being on for a long period indicates there is a problem with the battery. I knew that this battery is OK so I let it continue charging. I knew that it was safe to do so because this charger has great safety protection. ... show more

I've always had great success with these battery tenders for my motorcycles. Since I don't ride as much anymore, and have more bikes, they are critical for me to trust to have all up and ready to ride when I want to head down the road. So far I've had more milage out of the batteries for my bikes that the battery manufacturers ever say they are good for, and I've used these same tenders for quite some time. This is the first one of the latest "style" of these that I've gotten, but it seems exactly the same as the older ones for performance and ease of battery maintenance. Shipped and arrived in a timely manner. Bought this for my 2022 H-D Ultra Limited. My bike already had a dealer installed charge/accessory harness. It plugged right in and keeps my battery in road ready condition. It does come with a harness with battery clips to charge and maintain other 12V batteries as well. Good value and a must have for your power sports equipment. The only thing that would help is if it came with a leave in place harness for those that do not already have one on their vehicles. Was no issue for me as my bike already had one but all will not. ... show more

    • Small, lightweight, easy to use - and it works.
Extremely easy to use, just connect to vehicle and plug it in. My first glass mat battery so I needed the proper charger. After reading all of the online descriptions, reviews and comments I purchased this one and I couldn't be happier. I live in a very hot and humid part of the country where vehicle batteries are generally replaced after 3 years. 5 is max. Given the price for a new battery it just makes sense to keep the current one charged and properly cared for. This new Battery Tender makes that both easy and inexpensive to do.
