My arms were so tired of carrying almost 20 pounds of sprayer, and pumping till I’m red in the face. Enter the Sideking backpack sprayer. I almost bought a professional pump model that is also a backpack for almost $300. I’m glad I didn’t. This sprayer holds over 3 gallons and is way easier to use. To test it, I ran two tank loads of broadleaf killer over an approximately 2000 sq. ft. area. Instead of the included battery I used my Makita 4 amp hour, 18V battery, just to make sure they work in this sprayer. I sprayed for about 45 mins, and the Makita battery said it still had four bars showing, nearly a full charge. That’s a pretty efficient pump. It took a few try’s to get the nozzle that was right for my needs but it was no problem. Instructions were straightforward and assembled in less than 10 minutes. The only leak I had was in the trigger assembly, but some Teflon tape on the threads cured that. I like this sprayer so much that I’m not taking any stars off for that. The backpack style isn’t as comfortable as my Gregory backpack but I’m not hiking 50 miles with this either. I only have to make a few laps around our yard and fence line. It’s fairly simple to use, fill it with your mix, slap a battery in, and go to work. The on/off and pressure controls are easy to reach. I would recommend this item to a friend. ... show more

    • Like a mini atv sprayer

Unlike the lunchbox style, this version works more like an atv sprayer. It has a pump that pressures up, and stops when it has reached the set pressure, then resumes the moment pressure is released. Whereas the lunch box just pumps when you press the on button. This version generates a MUCH higher pressure and no more clicking a button on and off. It has a more conventional spray wand. My biggest complaint is the wand is not very good. You have to squeeze the lever down all the way to get it to release, and doesn't allow one to just gently let a little spray out. It's all or nothing. Though it could be replaced as there is no electronics to the wand.... definitely a plus in my opinion. The battery is included, otherwise it would have been a hard pass. The concern here is finding a replacement. That's a choice some will need to make. The hose seems high quality, and isn't to stiff. The padding works well enough for the few hours I used it. However the straps are bit low quality, and uncomfortable. The fasteners on the straps don't grip that great. I have concerns about them standing the test of time. I could see needing to replace them. A version like school back packs with all the padding would have been much better. All in all I am pretty happy with it.     • Really good pressure and coverage.

I've used this for the past 4 days cleaning up field edges, the sprayer has good pressure and give great coverage. The battery has lasted all day on one charge, about 5 tanks for me , uses the same batteries as some of my other lawn equipment and the unit is easy to flush out at the end of the day. The extending wand helps reach those hard to reach areas and I have experience no leaks anywhere. The only issue I had was the straps coming off at the bottom and top attachment points but that was easily fixed by taping the ends. ... show more

I get a sore back from carrying around a tank sprayer by hand, pumping it up and bending over to spray weeds. This looked like a good idea. The extended wand and having the tank on my back is great. But it does not work for walking around the brick patio and spraying a few weeds here and there. I still like it but for my use it wastes a lot of weed killer. I press the spray leaver and too much comes out and more after I let go of the trigger. If I was spraying a lot each time I use it I would say it's great. ... show more
