    • This Remote-Controlled Light Solved My Dark Closet (and it's good for garages too!)

This light is a lifesaver for anyone with poorly lit areas in their house, like me! My "craft closet" is at the end of a dark hallway, and I forget about finding anything in there without a flashlight. This battery-powered light with a remote control was exactly what I needed. Installation was a breeze. No electrician is required! The light panels can be adjusted to spread the light further, and it's super bright - perfect for illuminating the entire closet. Plus, the remote is a lifesaver when I get engrossed in a project and forget to turn off the light. It turns on as soon as I open the closet door and stays on for the whole time I'm crafting (there's also a manual "on" option). The only downside is that it takes four D batteries, which can be a pain to find and replace compared to the usual AA or AAA batteries. However, rechargeable batteries could be a good solution. Review for TOOWELL Battery Powered Flood Lights Outdoor with Remote - Security Lights Motion Sensor. I use these types of lights for inside sheds and little used attic spaces. You can point them towards the interior of the shed (or attic), so that as you enter deeper inside the shed, they turn on (either through motion detection or by using the remote). It is an inexpensive way to light up a little used area without having the expense of electrical wiring. Plus, since you won't have this light set off constantly (like it would if installed outside a shed), you won't have to replace the batteries too often. For lighting up the interior of sheds, these lights work great. If I wanted an exterior light, I would opt for a solar powered light instead, as I would not want to climb ladders to change the batteries for an exterior light. ... show more

So worth it. I got this for my "craft closet". This house has the worst lighting/light placement that I haver ever seen, so there are A LOT of dark areas in the house either bc of the distance from a light or because there are no lights at all. Well this closet is at the end of the hallway and has no light. So you can see crap. I'm also forgetful and easily distracted when crafting and I will leave the light oh. I needed something that I could mount up, shut off on its own, not require an outlet, ànd would stay on for the duration of me being in the closet without me having to hop around for the sensor to activate. It was very easy to Instal. The side lights can be moved outward more to help distribute the light in a wider range. It shines very bright and is perfect for my closet. I used some velcro tape I had to attach the remote to the wall bc lord knows I misplace. The remote works perfect. As soon as I open the closet doors the light comes right on amd for the most part will stay on the entire time I'm in there. There is also an option to just turn it on and keep it on. I do wish it took different batteries or at least had a Charging option. Those big batteries are a pain and unlike any AA or AAA, it's not something usually handy. So far I've had to go all the way into town to get them bc no stores by me have them. This would be a great light for outside as well. I'm not sure the distance it would illuminate but I do know it's been so amazing to have for my closet! ... show more

This light is very bright and has some nice features. I have motion sensor lights around my house but there is the occasional time that you are working on something near the light and it would be nice if it stayed on so you wouldn't have to keep triggering it to come on. This has a remote so you can turn it on or off whenever you want. I guess the only negative is that you have to keep the remote in a place near the light so you can find the remote when you need it. Maybe they could make a remote button that you can mount near the light? For me, I am using the light near my garage so the time I would want to turn it on, I would be working in my garage. So I velcroid the remote inside the garage on the wall so I can easily find the remote to turn on the light when needed. The only slight negative is that this uses 4 D batteries which is not the type of battery that nowadays most people have in storage. The D batteries are probably needed to give the light a lot of power and last longer, as opposed to smaller batteries. A rechargeable 18650 battery would have been really nice but oh well. It's plastic so it won't rust and it's very bright for a battery operated outside light. It primarily works as a motion sensor light at night. When it detects motion, it turns on for about 20 seconds and then turns off. It would be nice if that was adjustable like other motion detector lights. So I'm taking a star off for that. Overall, a very nice light where you don't have AC wires or you don't get sunlight for a solar powered outdoor light. Motion sensor works well and the remote is great to turn light on and off manually. ... show more
