The Baseus Security Camera N1 2K HD 2-Cam Kit offers a variety of features, making it a solid choice for those looking to secure their property with minimal hassle. Here's an in-depth look at my experience with this product. Pros 1. Simple Setup: The setup process for the Baseus N1 Security Camera system is straightforward. The included instructions in the app guide you through pairing the base station to the app and subsequently connecting the cameras. This seamless setup process ensures that even those with limited technical skills should be able to get the system up and running quickly. 2. Easy Mounting: Mounting the cameras is simple with all required hardware supplied. You will need a drill or screw driver for two screws per camera. The ease of installation makes this system ideal for a variety of locations. In my case, I installed one camera in the dining room and another in the kitchen of our country club restaurant, with the base station centrally located in a storage closet between the two. 3. Excellent Image and Audio Quality: The image quality is outstanding, both in live viewing and recorded video. The 2K HD resolution provides clear and detailed footage, ensuring that you can easily identify people and objects. Additionally, the audio quality is excellent, which enhances the overall surveillance capabilities of the system. Cons 1. Limited Expansion Options: While the system boasts expandable storage up to 16TB, there currently seems to be no way to expand the number of cameras. After fully charging both cameras before installation, I found that the camera in the kitchen dropped from 100% to 75% in just 48 hours, and the camera in the dining room decreased to 90%. By the fifth day, the kitchen camera was below 10% and the app notified me recharging was needed, while the dining room camera was at 60%. The kitchen camera was completely drained by the morning of the sixth day, and the dining room camera had dropped to 55%. This suggests that in environments with regular activity, the battery life is considerably shorter than advertised, making frequent recharging necessary. The Baseus Security Camera N1 2K HD 2-Cam Kit is a user-friendly and effective security solution with excellent image and audio quality. However, its limited expansion options and significantly shorter battery life in active environments may be drawbacks for some users. In my experience, the need for frequent recharging made it impractical for our country club restaurant, leading me to replace it with a Reolink PoE system, which required running Cat5 cables to each camera but provided a more reliable solution. Overall, the Baseus N1 system is suitable for low-activity environments where the claimed battery life can be more closely achieved.
