  • Worth the money
Very durable and does the job well.

  • Easy to use. Well made.
Very easy to use. Allows spring bar removal without scratching or damaging my watches. Very good value.

  • Seems reasonably decent, small QC or shipping issue?
Seems solid enough, my only issue is one of the forked tips came damaged or badly machined, so there's not much of a notch (kind of the most important aspect). It does come with a second though, so at least there was a back up. It's not particularly expensive, but determining value for the money is quite difficult these days. It feels like something that should be $5, not $12 (at the time of order and this writing), but everything's price has gone up. ... show more

  • Really works!
Lately have purchased several watches that were on great sales, but which I thought were not done with good choices between the watch and the band. They also featured quick release bands. So I am buying different bands. But you have to move tiny little slides to change out and replace bands. This tool allows you to do this easily without breaking nails and swearing, etc. it works well!! Love it! It’s gonna stay around in our tool drawer. ... show more

  • Decent enough for the price, but broke surprisingly easily
I've used this to replace two different watch bands, each requiring use of both sides of the tool. My grandfather's Hamilton's watch band was pretty easy to replace using the Y-shaped side of the tool. Difficulties I encountered were from this being the first time I've ever replaced a watch band and from the watch having the same band from when my grandfather got the watch probably 50+ years ago. The second watch band was for my son's watch. While this one was more straight-forward due the pin being compressed from the outside. The problem here was that the pin side of the tool snapped while trying to replace the band. Fortunately, it came with a spare. But I'm still shocked and disappointed it broke in the first place: granted, the side of the tool is thinner than a paperclip, it shouldn't be as weak as one. ... show more

  • A Must Have For Band Replacement
For replacing watch bands this is a must purchase. This is the tool I use to install a new leather or metal watch band. Most leather or stainless steel watch band replacements are easy to install due to the quick release pins. Some of the replacement bands come will the installation tool but these tools have too short a handle. This Barton tool also has a MM scale which is a must for ordering your band size. ... show more

  • Perfect for its INTENDED purpose!
First things first: This is a spring bar removal tool. It is designed to assist in the removal and/or installation of a watch strap or bracelet from, or to, the watch itself. The spring bar is released by depressing the "spring" in the "bar", thus releasing the strap or bracelet from the watch. The end of the tool with the pin is for use on watches that have pierced, or drilled lugs. The notched or "forked" end is for use on those watch-lugs that are solid. THIS TOOL IS NOT DESIGNED TO HELP REMOVE OR ADD LINKS TO WATCH BRACELETS! Therefore hitting with a hammer to punch out link pins, will of course, destroy it. There is is another set of tools available that IS specifically DESIGNED to remove or add bracelet links (see my last photo). NOW, about this tool: I have given it 5 stars for several reasons. First, it is longer and thicker than many others making it easier to use and maneuver. It is also exceedingly well constructed for durability. Next, there is a metric ruler engraved on the body of the tool which allows for measurements of strap width and lug separation. Straps are often tapered And the ruler will help determine that, and the required buckle size when you are changing straps. It can even be useful in the measurement of the overall size of the watch itself, if the watch doesn't exceed 50mm. The seller provided excellent communication and super-quick, safe delivery. I highly recommend this tool, and, Barton! ... show more
