This was easy to use and did a great job breaking up the soil so I could level it out. I even jumped on it to get it through (it’s a little chilly so the ground is pretty hard) and it help up to that multiple times. I made sure to tighten the screws as tight as possible with the provided parts, and nothing loosened at all while I was using it, and I was certainly not gentle. There was a time in my life that I had to turn to archaic garden tools like shovels and hoes. I thought I was destined to live out my days hacking at the dirt with the primitive tools invented by our ancestors. The older I got, the harder it became to perform simple tasks like touching my toes, and math. I knew at this time I must embark on my journey of self betterment. It was a long and difficult path filled with highs and lows. From the time I lost my temper and roto-tilled the entire garden, to the day I broke my shovel and began digging with my bare hands. I remember looking up and shouting to the heavens "WHY GOD WHY? There must be a better way." That was a hard day. This was the day when I had nearly lost all hope. In anguish, I hopped on Amazon randomly searching for things like Unicorn Kitten socks, anything to put a smile on my face, when I stumbled across this tool. I couldn't believe my eyes. Could this be what I've been searching for for so long? I spent no delay and opted to Buy it Now. I remember breaking into a cold sweat the day it arrived. I quickly opened the package, set the height, and ran out to the garden. I was amazed! Not only did it easily turn up the soil, the repetitive twisting motion gave the appearance that I was dancing at the same time. I won't deny that I may have sung a little jingle while I was at it. This thing is a wonder! It reaches deep into the soil, then just give it a twist and up come the rocks and hard clay soil that have ruined my gardening life and my back. Two things you should know: I used it on soil I had already loosened by hand. I just wanted something to finish the job with an extra oomph. And it had a lot of oomph. The other thing is that I am 73 years old with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. So . . . well . . . it works but I don't work so well any more. It's a sturdy piece though. Takes a lot of strength. My project was to clear off the grass & weeds on a steep hillside where I wanted to plant wildflower seeds. I don't have a tiller, and it would have been too steep to use one there anyway. I am 5’3” and I love that it has the ability to be shorter. It is the perfect length for me to use. I was surprised by the quality and the sturdiness. It does a fantastic job to break up my garden soil, and pulls out the stubbornest weeds with ease. And the best part is it takes very little effort. I am a bit older than I used to be and I can imagine I will be using this for many years to come.
