As a long time plastic model maker I bought this out of nostagia but I am very impressed how well made it is: For the seasoned modeler: This kit is very precise. The mold these came out of is very very good. This kit is essentially a snap together kit which requires no glue, and the tolerance is very good. Pieces fits together snugly and is not too tight that you can't pull them apart, or is too loose you worry will lose them. Even pieces like the nose, tail, and bell do not come off. The way the black "whiskers" fits through the face piece so you don't have to paint it perfect. For new or young modelers: All the parts are modeled in the right color so you don't need to paint it. Parts are keyed with different shapes where they join so you can only put it together one way Unlike most model kits, the connection points between the sprue and the actual part is quite small. You can easily snap them apart without tool, and even after you snap there is very little to clean up. There is very little remain to shave off or sand. If you are really obsessive you could take some sandpaper to it but for most people it is unnecessary. Included decals are for different looks of the eyes If I REALLY have to pick something to improve on, it is that where the white spherical fist meets the body there is a gap because the way the pieces snap fits together it is necessary for the part to have that gap to fit together. It is small enough that it really doesn't matter, but I've included picture so you can see what I'm talking about, but keep in mind it is a close up shot. The other would be the molding line on the upper half of the body, and the parting line between pieces. Again, this is a nostalgia piece for most people, and unless you are extremely picky modeler it would not be an issue, and this is not a kit targeted at extremely precise and picky builders. It is excellent quality to please a seasoned modeler, and simple enough for a newbie to build and get great results. This little model is adorable! Purchased shamelessly for myself, a huge Kirby fan who’s never built a model before. It’s ultra easy to put together; if you’re instructions-averse like me, it’ll still be pretty obvious how he goes together. (It’s even ok for maybe kids who can’t read well just yet-just match the pictures!) I liked that it has no rough edges where you snap the pieces out of their frames. I also love the full-belly part, that’s a great little piece to building it that you never see but it’s a happy thing to know it’s there. My only hint is that the instructions say to put the stickers on his cheeks after he’s put together but i found it easier to line them up and stick them on before his face snaps into his head! ... show more

Although for some odd reason Amazon decided to slightly overcharge for it (its supposed to be $10 and amazon has it for $12 not a big deal but worth mentioning), this entry grade kit is superb! I'm someone who absolutely never builds ANY model kits, and I hate the idea of having to use all kinds of crap to do so. This line was meant to address lazy people like me who don't wanna dish out extra time or money buying nippers or gundam markers for actual model kit accuracy. Instead, the parts come in 4 riser sections which are clearly labeled, easy to read, and the parts snap together seamlessly. A beginner can definitely assemble this with no issues and THANK YOU BANDAI FOR ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS! There are step by step clear cut visual guides to constructing the figure and it is hard to mess up. It comes out looking quite nice and authentic to how a decent quality Goku figure should look. Of course, it isn't figuarts levels of quality but it'll do for the price you're paying. Overall, if you're a dragon ball fan and want a fun, quick project then this is perfect for you. Even if you're not a huge fan of DBZ or DBS but you like building stuff, this is also a great purchase, so give it a try. ... show more

I've built three slightly more complex robot kits, but still consider myself somewhat of a plastic model kit novice and found this Son Goku kit to be a fun, simple build. It only took about 20 minutes to complete, with absolutely no tools needed. The parts are designed to be pushed off the parts runners by hand easily, and this works perfectly leaving only the tiniest excess nubs, which can be easily smoothed with a fingernail. Stands approximately 6.5" when built, and while not the most detailed, still looks really cool. Fair price, and perfect for beginners, but probably still fun for experienced model kit builders as well. ... show more
