I have been buying this product for at least two decades, and there was nothing like it on the market! It looks like a new owner has taken over, and they sadly have change the formula to be just like all the other cheap ones that leave a film on your skin and don’t feel clean. Not only did one bottle arrive exploded...the one that I did actually use was not what I’ve purchased in stores. This one is thin and watery, and leaves my skin dry. It’s clearly a knock off. Purchase at a local drug store instead.

The lotion received is not what is pictured. The lotion, which is still called Banana Boat in an updated label and blue pump lid (compared to what is advertised), is thinner in consistency and smells more medicinal than the original formula. I used Ocean Potion after sun lotion for years as an after shave and skin lotion. They changed the formula about a year ago and I have been trying to find something similar to replace it. After reading many 5 star reviews on Amazon, I thought I had found what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I was wrong. It goes on heavy and stays greasy feeling hours later. This is my favorite lotion year-round. I love the smell, texture, and feel of it on my skin. It is great for those days you get too much sun as well - incredibly soothing and works like a charm on burned skin (you see instant results). Unfortunately, it's very hard to find in the stores near me, so I have to pay a pretty penny to purchase these on Amazon. Plus, the bottles leaked in transit. I was putting a ton of Aloe Vera on my shoulders (4x a day) and one of my roommates noticed the burn. She had some of this product leftover from a trip she went on. This not only works in the summer for keeping your tan moisturized and looking great, it's a must for dry winter skin. I can't always find it in the store in the winter so I was glad to find it on Amazon. Very moisturizing. Scent is just okay, but the skin softening effects of this lotion make it worth it.
