I don't think the steam toast feature really makes a difference from a normal toaster. I do really like how speedy it is, it's like a countertop oven combined with an air fryer. Sometimes it works for frozen stuff, sometimes it just broils the surface and leave the inside cold. The only thing that really bothers me a bit is that the flap that covers the water reservoir has such a flimsy hinge. Right out the box, it doesn't sit quite flush with the rest of the top. I saw this in a youtube video from 2018 and was astounded by what the creator had to say about the toast. Now that I am older and have big-boy money, I decided to purchase it for myself. Ever since I bought this toaster, I have been eating at least 2 slices of toast every day for the past month. This absolute beast of a toaster has not failed to create perfect pieces of toast. I've told my friends about this purchase and they thought I was insane... until I gave them a piece of toast from the Heavens itself. My go-to combination is a slice of Japanese milk bread paired with a knob of grass-fed butter. Get the 300$ toaster and flex on your friends n family! ... show more

Due to the fact that I make my own bread and am somehow incapable of making bread that fits a normal toaster I needed to go old school. After looking around I spotted this gem, it's pricey that is a big drawback otherwise works as intended. It's recommended settings lean to lightly toasted bread so don't be shy about cranking it up. It makes toast, toasties and grilled cheese like a champ. I haven't tried pizza nor am I tempted to. Spoiling the toaster with grease just seems like a bad way to go. There seems to be something to the misting function because even when I crank the timer up to 10 the center is still soft while the surface of the bread is what you would expect from being toasted for 10 minutes. It's one heck of a crunch but instead of the burnt brick I was expecting it was a dark tan with a soft inside, though once again I make my own bread store bought might react differently due to higher sugar content and whatnot (has to be something as my breads shelf life is much lower than the stores). Final judgement: It makes good toast, I haven't been let down even when trying to mess it up. you can toss in a slice of bread topped with ham and cheese 6-8 minutes later you have a tasty snack. Can't go wrong with that. Is it worth the money? That's a tough one I'd say it's perfect price point would be $150 possibly $200 if the internal build quality is up to snuff but I haven't seen one cracked open to know if the parts are top shelf of standard issue. I was a bit nervous because I kept reading about it not shutting all the way so I tried to recreate it. If you unlatch the pullout tray from the door the door no longer shuts all the way. I'm assuming this is the user error unless I see the same symptoms down the line ... show more

If you really enjoy toast and eat it frequently then this toaster oven is for you. Or if you just want great toast AND a great toaster oven for pizzas, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc. then this is for you as well. Unlike most toaster/toaster ovens it is very precise and consistent. It’s what you would expect from a Japanese product. Whatever you make comes out the same every time so you can make adjustments on the timer for your personal preferences. And the water feature makes even refrigerated bread taste fresh. So is it worth $299? For a toaster and toaster oven that works perfectly? Yes! ... show more

This thing just looks fantastic. Unlike every other toaster oven, it isn’t a giant chrome box, and it adds rather than distracts from the design of our newly remodeled kitchen. Also it truly does make amazing toast. It has simple controls and works quickly. The one downside is the interior size - it really only fits one slice of pizza, and there are a lot of frozen pizzas that would just not fit. I guess that is what the actual oven is for now. The overall dimensions are definitely smaller and more compact than your average toaster oven, but it’s still bigger than an upright toaster - probably twice as big. It’s a lot more versatile, but doesn’t have convection or air frying, so it’s a trade off. If you are going for style and toast with basic counter oven needs, this can’t be beat. But if you have tons of space and want to use your toaster oven all the time, you might want to get a dilonghi or breville. We love it and are making more toast than ever. Also, it absolutely murders reheating waffles - they come out like they are fresh off the waffle-maker ... show more
