The smell of burning toast is really nauseating to me, but that was a common occurrence with a conventional toaster in my home. Based on a article I read about this toaster in the WSJ, and gushing reviews here and on YouTube, I decided to place a bet on this unit. The gamble paid off big time. Perfect toast every time, whether bagels, thick homemade bread, store bought bread, buns, etc. No more burning toast! Perfect, delicate toast. You can't imagine what an improvement Balmuda could make to toast until you try it! You just need to make sure that the settings are correct whenever changing bread styles to ensure best results. Love the size and efficiency with this toaster. The idea of adding steam to the toasting process is brilliant and indeed my toast comes out fluffier, yet with the surface crunch that I desire and expect. Not complicated and the 'footprint' of this makes it easy as a traditional toaster replacement.

I have enjoyed using this much commended toaster. It is a very good toaster, and it does help revive frozen and day old bread. It is not a miracle worker. It's expensive for what it does, but a nice luxury to have. One big negative - it's not a particularly good toaster oven. Time and temperature setting are very limited and the internal space is small. Most of the time, I'm just looking to make toast. I thought this would be great for my super small kitchen but for the high price, it really doesn't enhance your toast and for some reason my croissants (or anything that isn't as flat as toast) ALWAYS burns at the top no matter which setting I played around with. If I set it too low, then it doesn't toast/warm up the pastry. It's so small that you can't even fit two larger slices of bread to toast at once - only 2 square ones. You have to be aware of the limited functions when you buy this and that it probably won't replace a traditional toaster oven. I feel terrible that I fell for the aesthetics of this toaster over function and now it's too late to return it. ... show more

I've always wanted this but I waited because I couldn't justify $300 for a toaster when my $20 one was working just fine. Some things in life is worth spending extra money for and this is one of them. Whatever the technology they use, they make any bread tastes like it is freshly baked, even the one that's been in the freezer for a while. It brings the life of any bread back but croissant from costco works the wonder. Now I feel like my quality of life is improved, because I eat much better tasting bread every day. ... show more
