  • Loving this product!
Style: New Bath Canner
I just got this a week ago, I've already made sixteen jars of jam. This product had given me back the ability to can without lifting huge pots of hot water. I feel it's a great value for the money. It can also be used for steaming vegetables or making large batches of soup. It performed perfectly, very safe, because not lifting, just open the spigot after it cools down right into the sink. This product is made to sit on the counter top next to the sink. It does get very hot, I would not recommend having small children under foot while using this product . It is the same as you wouldn't have them under foot if you were using the traditional means of canning. The appearance is nice, I wouldn't leave it on my counter top all the time, like any other kitchen gadget. Easy to use. ... show more

  • So far this Water Bath Canner is working great.
Style: New Bath Canner
I read all the reviews before buying and the only negatives seemed minor so I decided to give it a try. I have a gas stove and water bath canning on my stove really heats up my kitchen so I was looking for a better option. The instructions are very few and very easy to understand. The negative comments I noticed from others were just a few. I have a bit of experience with hot bath canning so I'm comfortable with some shortcuts I'm taking. If you are new to water bath canning, I'd recommend you follow all guidelines and instructions given for this canner. 1. Not being able to skip the step to heat jars when not needed. For what I have done I needed to heat jars so that wasn't an issue however I did find that it seems to go above and beyond the heat level needed before filling. I start taking my jars out when I feel they are hot enough to fill so by the time the canner works thru this cycle I normally have my jars full and back in the pot ready to move on the Processing. If you are cold packing your jars and then needing to process I really don't have any suggestions. 2. Setting the timer for the amount of processing time. Yes you do have to hit the plus sign alot of times especially if you need longer processing times but really this takes less than a minute. It would have been nice if the plus sign advanced to 5 minute increments because that would have worked perfectly but still no big deal. Also if you fail to press next after setting the time the canner will turn off and you have to start over:( This is a bit frustrating cause it then has to work thru hitting jars before moving on to processing but since water is already hot this moves thru pretty quickly 3. I love that once Jars are filled and I set the processing time (and press next) I truly can walk away and not baby sit like I do boiling water on the stove top. 4. I love the spout for draining water but I find when I'm doing a lot of canning I just leave the water in the pot with lid on for the next day's canning job. 5. I think I'll also enjoy this pot to make big batches of sauces, soups and stews and reducing the use of my gas top stove to keep my kitchen cooler:) ... show more

  • Water Bath Canner
Style: New Bath Canner
I've always pressure canned my food for storage. This year I decided to purchase this water bath canner so I could compare the ease of use and convenience. It's very easy to use and I can set the timer and do other time-consuming chores. It's very sturdy and I love the drainage spout that hangs over the sink to make emptying it so much easier. ... show more

  • Best Canning Purchase
Style: New Bath Canner
I only make jams, and I have a disability, so man handling a giant canner full of water is not great. I also have put off replacing my old stove because I can, and didn't want to use a full canner on a glass top. I bought this when it went on sale, and have used it twice. I checked a trial run, and it keeps perfect temp. The automated features were super nice. It prepped my jars, and kept them at temp. I made marmalade once and didn't take into account how long it takes to prep the orange peels, but the canner kept those jars at the right temp the whole time. It did beep occasionally to let me know it was up to temp, but that wasn't a problem for me. After filling jars I just set the controls. I had to read the manual becuase I kept accidentally hitting the wrong thing, but that's user error. Both times, it just worked perfectly. It timed it, and went through the process with out any issues. I have not tried the steaming option, but I was thinking of making either a big batch of tamales, or bao buns, to test that. My trial run on the steam side worked well enough, so that means I now have the biggest steamer ever. Break down is so much easier. I can just drain it out of the spout to get the water out. It sits perfectly fine on the counter by the sink. This product also means I can replace my old stove with a glass top one now. I was waiting because canning jam on a glass top made me nervous. Now I don't have to use the stove top for it. The one thing I was concerned about is the spout. It sticks out and I didn't want an accident in the cupboard to happen. I decided to store it in its box, so problem solved. ... show more

  • Convenient and Time-Saving

It heats up quickly and handles multiple jars at once. I’ve been able to can large batches in no time, and it’s so easy to use.

  • Canning more convenient
Style: New Bath Canner
I was hesitant to buy another kitchen gadget but this is worth the money (and the space to store it). It will automatically heat jars and moves on to process jars. Apparently you can use it for steaming too but it's so huge I can't imagine what you would steam in it. I put it outside on the patio and do all the processing out there so the house is not heated up. Definitely buy if you're a serious canner. ... show more
