I’ve used this cart about five times so far. I really love it. It feels like it is well-made, and is stable and smooth - no veering or tipping. Pros: Solid and balanced. It folds fairly easily and while it is not necessarily “compact,” it fits on the floor of my truck if I push the front seat up. The ball, scorecard, cup, and tee holders work well. Cons (minor): As you might guess from the name “Spartan,” there are not a lot of extras. I’ve not found a good place to carry a sand bottle. Bag Boy makes an accessory bottle that I will probably need to order. Also, I have found that with my bag (Ping Hoofer Lite) I have to take the umbrella out, strap the bag, and then re-insert the umbrella to make the bag sit right. Not a major problem. ... show more

I have always preferred to carry my clubs and have used the lightest bag I could find that did the job. But for the last couple of years my back has been hurting. Still I resisted buying a cart until I saw an add for the Spartan cart and my golf buddies encouraged me to give it a try. It’s been a month and I realize I made the right choice. The cart is light enough and compact enough. It’s sleek and well made. And best of all, I’m getting the same exercise by walking, but my back doesn’t hurt. Parts wise the cart is well built. Bag is easy to put in place and secure. It collapses easily and fits in the trunk. Design wise it has a major flaw where the club tops extend over the scorecard and phone holder. The angle of the bag needs to be higher to provide access to the scorecard, cup holder, etc. There does not appear to be any ability to adjust the bag angle. ... show more

I loved this cart for what it is. It DEFINITELY sacrifices small form and light weight for heavy duty and resistance. That's not to say it's not portable, but if your priority is compact, you'll want to look elseware. BUT For those looking for the highest quality in push carts, feature rich and durable, this will be your go to! Assembly: couldn't have been easier. I didn't even look at the instructions, and it was together in maybe 3 minutes. It's THAT intuitive. Basically, pop the wheels on, unfold it, and go. Style: overall, it's quite good looking. Red accents and straps, and heavy duty plastic, it looks every bit of it's price tag if not more. Design: It's very well though out. The latches for folding and onfolding are all accented in red, which makes the process that might easier. They pack a TON into it's small form. Rain jacket holders, tee holders, score card writing, you name it, it's here. Even an attachable umbrella holder is included. Again it's VERY heavy duty and would hold a tour cart bag without issue, but easily adjusted to my light carry bag. Weight: it's pretty light compared to full metal models. Its form factor is big though, even when folded, and don't expect to put this in your car trunk with your clubs. Heavy duty, simple to use, and feature packed, This is easily the best cart I've used and blows away anything you'll rent at the course. If you regularly rent one, this is a no brainer. This review is for the Bag Boy Spartan XL Push Cart. This is a fantastic push cart, very well made of excellent quality materials. It is shocking just how small this really folds up, and it only takes clamping 2 adjustment brackets to completely fold or unfold the cart. The 13” wheels make pushing this cart while loaded very easy on the cart path, fairway rough, or even taking shortcuts between holes through rougher terrain. I even used it on a golf course that has elevation changes of 100+’, and the large wheels helped make the trek a bit easier. If you need to remove the wheels to make the cart even smaller for transporting, there are quick-release buttons for the wheels. But frankly I found this unnecessary due to how small it actually folds up. The cart is large enough to handle a full size cart bag, and is secured with the 2 elastic cords and hooks. It tracks very smooth and straight, but there is an adjustment mechanism on the front wheel if any drift develops. The handle is cushy and comfortable, and enables a secure grip. This is especially important for traversing hilly terrain since there isn’t a hand-brake or auto-braking mechanism if it accidentally gets away from you, which is typical for these types of carts. It does have a foot brake on one wheel, and does an excellent job keeping the cart from rolling away when engaged. The handle area also keeps your key items in easy reach, which includes ball holders, tee holders, drink slot, umbrella, and a nice large storage bag area for snacks or other loose items. The handle is also adjustable for different heights. I play a lot of golf, and sometimes I ride in a golf cart, sometimes I use a push cart. For the times where I want to use a push cart, this one is now my go-to option.
