  • Installed this on a one-piece crank with a 73mm bottom bracket shell.
Color: Display 500C Size: BB68mm ChairingT46+No Battery
After doing quite a bit of research on the internet, I decided to order this Bafang mid drive motor kit from Greenergia. What I did not realize at the time was that I was going to be charged $100 for shipping on top of the $647 price tag. Not a big deal because I know that shipping is expensive but you get used to free shipping on Amazon so it took me by surprise a bit. One On the next day, Greenergia had sent me an e-mail message asking me to confirm the voltage type, the size (68-73mm) and the chain ring size (46t). To me this was a good sign that they were really being careful to get me the correct set according to what I had ordered. After I immediately replied with the information, they shipped the package 2 days later by Fedex and it took 8 days for Fedex to deliver the package. Everything I ordered was in the box. The box was thick double walled cardboard and there was a foam organizer as you can see in the photos. I opted to get a battery from a different source because I wanted a rear mounted one but heard bad reviews about this companies flimsy back luggage rack, as well as not finding a way to mount their luggage rack onto my particular bike. The last photo shows the motor installed in my old Huffy bicycle (photo taken with the bike upside down). I did find it odd that the motor did not say anywhere on it that it was a BBSHD 1000 watt motor. By looking at the numbers on it, I'm pretty sure that it was a 1000 watt motor though. I just wish the exact model number was clearly printed on the motor itself. One final note, my Huffy bicycle had a one-piece crank and a 73mm bottom bracket shell, meaning that I had to use an adapter to get this motor to fit. I ordered the Truvativ American-to-Euro BMX Adapter. I did eventually get this adapter to work but it took a lot of grinding and it was not the adapter's fault. Regardless of the adapter you use, you will have to do some grinding on it to make any one-piece crank system fit any Bafang mid drive kit. Taken as is, you'll find that you cannot slide this adapter all the way down onto the main drive spindle of the motor because the flange on the adapter will stop it about 3/4 of the way down. The flange needs to be ground off on one side in order to make it work - not something that your average hobbyist may have the tools for. The adapter is aluminum and grids easily. My bicycle has a 73mm bottom shell and the motor I ordered was measured for a 68-73mm bottom shell as well. And yes, this motor does fit a 73mm shell. However, the motor did cause my chain ring to stick out a bit further than it should have been, causing my chain to derail off of the main chain ring if the bike was in first gear. The usual fix is to order something like the Luna Eclipse chain ring that has a really deep offset. However, I found a way to trim about 1/4" off of my bottom bracket shell using a dremel tool with a few cutting disks. You can see by my final photo that this idea worked out the best. Anyway, I'm very happy that everything works and I've taken the bike out for a couple of rides so far. I also had not had to deal with any defects or problems so far but will try to update this review if any issues should arise. ... show more

  • Converted a fat tire bike
Color: Display 850C Size: BB120mm chainring T42+Shark battery 52V19...
Everything was as advertised. This is my third ebike conversion. This time I used a Minnesota Framed Fat tire bike. Works like charm. I havent had a chance to get on anything steep yet but with the gear ratios and the higher powered bbsd motor I don't think it will be a problem. Delivery was fast after I ordered it which was nice. Anyway, thumbs up! ... show more

  • Fun & Powerful Motor From Honorable & Trustworthy Seller
I've only had my kit installed a couple of weeks and we've had a run of bad weather but I've been able to get out on a couple of rides now that included some gravel mountain roads and single track trails and I am having a blast! I'm able to ride up hills that given my current physical fitness level I would not be doing otherwise. I'm getting used to the extra weight on the bike and it's becoming less of an issue for handling. Seller was super responsive and worked fast to get me a new kit after the shipper lost the first one. Every question or issues I've had they have been great to work with and typically responded to my messages in less than a day. I installed the motor kit on a Diamondback El Oso Uno and it went okay, there were some things to figure out. Now that it's all installed it's working great. I ordered the 100mm bottom bracket, and it works but because the bike supports up to a 5" tire the rear triangle (chain & seat stays) are wider than some bikes. This made it so I had to space the motor to the right (drive) side more than anticipated. The extra spacing made it so I can't use the second lock ring on the left side, it's holding but I'm checking it frequently, I'll probably add some loctite here soon once I'm confident in everything staying put. If I knew this before hand I would have ordered the 120mm bottom bracket. This also made it so I had to space the bolts on the left side that mound the motor to the mounting plate. Because of the bottom bracket spacing issue the chain line is less than optimal, but it works. I used an old reflector bracket mounted to the chainstay and a clamp to make a chain guide to make sure the chain runs onto the front chain ring in a straight line no matter what gear I'm in; it's only the lower gears (larger on back) that cause the bad angle. Power is amazing! I got the 52V 14.5 amph batter and am loving it. I see the motor hit 1300+ watts of power at times, it's amazing! This thing will pull me up some amazingly steep hills on throttle only. Range is still unknown, however, I've been on a couple of 12 mile rides and still had around 50V left, the computer estimates the range and it fluctuates a lot depending on how steep the road/trail and how much I pedal. I feel like I could get close to 30 miles on mostly flat terrain and about 20 miles on some serious hills. We'll see, I'll update once I know. I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone with some technical and mechanical know how, otherwise I'd suggest you get someone to do the install for you, there's some things that are not simply plug-n-play. ... show more
