It is attractive, it is roomy (16x12 version) and the kit was well organized. The instructions were thorough and crystal clear. There are a lot of instructions. Please do not skip any instructions. There is red print in there for a reason. Those bits are extra important. 😊 It took us a LONG time to assemble. I’m meticulous, like measure-four-times-then-cut level of meticulous , but it still was probably 25 hours in total. And when it was time to put the roof sections (built on the ground first) on the frame, it was impossible for just me and my husband to do. We had to have our three sons come visit to help my husband get them up and installed. Four men, two ladders and rented scaffolding. Yes, we bought a big one, but the expectation that two people could completely build this 16x12 is unrealistic. So, if you are prepared for a project that takes a while and you have the muscle power to bring in for the lift, this is a GREAT gazebo. We LOVE it. We would buy it again, BUT we’d patiently wait for the company that assembles. It would have been about $800 for the build and they were booked 6 weeks out. However, that’s still preferable to the time it took, the scaffolding rental expense, and the truck rental expense to pick up and deliver the scaffolding, and the time and labor of my boys, one of whom drove over five hours one way to come help. ❤️ Love the gazebo. This gazebo is a nice unit. I was very impressed that the dozens of pre drilled holes were spot on for the most part. All the hardware is incredibly strong and a generous amount of extra pieces are included. Installation was involved- not necessarily difficult, but I would not recommend a novice do-it-yourself guy to attempt it. It comes in 6 big boxes and has literally thousands of pieces of hardware. I strongly recommend taking an hour or two and sorting the hardware and wood pieces. One minor gripe - the wood is dark stain and has part numbers stamped in black ink. For me it was a little difficult to see. As with most carpentry projects, it’s imperative that the basic frame and posts are plumb and level. I’m in the construction trades and along with a friend who is an accomplished wood worker, it took us 13 hours to complete the bulk of the assembly. I spent about another 10 hours alone, assembling the basic frame and roof sections and adding the finish trim. Three people are needed to lift and mount the roof panels to the structure. Purchased the 12x16. Very pleased with the look. There's nothing cheap looking about it. It is sturdy. One thing to note-The flashing that comes from the roof and covers the wood should have a drip edge.

This thing is awesome! Just as others stated, the paper instructions and BILT app video instructions make it much easier to assemble. Understand that some pre-drilled holes in the roofing won't be aligned so some drilling is likely necessary. You have within 1/4in of wiggle room when trying to get things squared. Customer service was super friendly and helpful. My kit was missing 2 hardware pieces that I couldn't get from the hardware store and the company sent them right away at no cost. I'm impressed by the quality of this gazebo. I purchased this from Amazon so that I could take advantage of the payment plan. I'm going to install a gutter system on it. Wow. This sucker is very heavy. Its taken 4 days to put together. Putting on a 14 ft roof panel with two ppl is hard. Not to mention you have to make sure the rafters holes are lining up so you can put in a large bolt. If you can pay a company to assemble I would do so.

This is a GREAT gazebo!!! Everyone who sees it loves it!.... LOTS of compliments. VERY sturdy & heavy. We stained ours to match the house before putting it together -took two of us @1 1/2 days, but glad we did. (Used Pittsburg outdoor stain- walnut color). Arrived relatively quickly. We added curtains to block out the sun, and rain. Added a plug in ceiling fan (with light) to help keep us cool (hid wire in rafters with hooks). SO many pieces, but marked well & relatively good instructions . We had a handyman help my husband put it together - took them two days. Some pieces are inside of the main vertical posts - be careful not to miss them. Would definitely recommend! ... show more

49 pages of instruction. 49. I knew this was a big job when I ordered it / suckered my husband into putting it together with me. The first day was ROUGH. Once you've got it started, it is fine, but getting into the swing of it is a bit dicey, especially if you don't love putting things together. This is a BIG project, but the end result is stunning and SO WORTH IT. I believe the instructions said it would take 12 hours to put together and that's just nonsense. And you will need at least 4 people or 3 extremely strong people to get the roof panels on. Other than that - the directions were a dream and there's also an app with extremely explicit and clear directions. If you need a drill and a saw, you screwed something up! It will take a long time to assemble and if you do it right, you will be very happy with the results. The overall guality is excellent except the sheet metal screws,the rubber gaskets are trash. I got some sheet metal screws with a steel washer attached to the rubber gasket and they worked perfectly. ... show more
