Update: this is my third kit I've bought from bttr. I first bought the lavender, a month later the sunflower kit, and just bought a second lavender kit. My first lavender kit was planted a month before the sunflower and you can see from the picture how slow growing and delicate lavender is. Be patient! I always buy plants that are already grown so this is exciting to grow from seeds. The fertilizer sticks are in the kit so as it grows I can help it along. This lavender is so delicate so when you water it, you literally have you use drops of water so as not to wash them away or be to forceful with the water. I had more seedings but thats what's happened. Great gift for people who don't have room or a garage for a bag of dirt. Excellent gift for nursing home residents. I just purchased this product. I loved the fact that it was a no mess kit! I felt no need to go buy my own dirt, make a mess just to watch my seeds grow. This kit is so convenient for an "inside" project. It would be great for anyone with kids to allow them to tend to. ... show more

I purchased two of these kits. I figured I had done something wrong with the first one because nothing ever Grew. So I purchased a second one. I followed all of the directions. Kept it warm. Kept it sunny. It only had one sprout! I did not pay $29.99 for one sprout. I really should have read the reviews before I purchased this thing but I was on a growing kick. It's too late for me to get refunds on either of the kids that I had purchased through Amazon so. I have purchase lavender seeds for a hydroponic garden. I would feel like a fool gifting these to someone, because they would think they did something wrong when they didn't! ... show more
