I bought this flat iron after I saw my hair stylist using it on me. I asked her where I could find it and she told me that I could only find it at the best beauty supply stores for about $200, and even THEN I would have to have a professional license to purchase it! So when I found it on Amazon for 60 sum dollars, I was amazed. By the time I bought it, the lowest price was $77 (still a huge steal compared to what the hair stylist told me). I got it in about 5 days and used it right away. Unlike my old flat iron, this one had really long plates, so I could straighten more hair and faster. And because the heat goes all the way to the outside edges, I could curl my hair. Also, my old flat iron used to snag my hair at the edges of the plates, but because this one has such huge plates, it wasn't a problem (and neither was getting used to longer plates- didn't burn myself once). This thing saves a lot of time too! It heats up all the way in less than 30 seconds. And it goes up to 450 degrees with 50 heat settings, so it's gentle enough to use on my mom's soft hair and tough enough to use on my thick coarse hair. I used to think that ceramic was the way to go, but after purchasing this flat iron, I found out that titanium is easier to take care of and conducts heat better. The one downside is the slight smell of burning plastic it gives off the first few times you use it, but it should go away rather quickly. The benefits in this case definitely outweigh the initial odor. I'm so glad I bought this. And I can't believe that I bought a flat iron and a curler that works on all types of hair for only $77! It was such a great investment. I can use this when I do my hair, my sisters' hair, and my mom's hair. If you're hesitating to buy a $77 flat iron instead of buying one at a grocery store for cheap- DON'T. It will more than pay itself off, considering the saved trips to the salon. I do my hair, my mom's hair, and my two sisters' hair, so this is saving us LOTS of time and money (and the fact that it works on all our different types of hair is amazing). I bought this when I mistakenly thought my other straightener was broken (don't ask). I realized that my other one wasn't broken, but when I received this, I kept it anyway because the blades are so thin. I can get right up to my scalp for super straight hair. You can't use this as a hybrid curling iron because of that, but if you want a straightening iron, this is the one. Note: it is not an auto off. I think it's because it's for professional use. Hi everyone! I have owned a few straighteners and let me tell you, this one is by far the best one I have owned. It does not burn my hair but gives it a very nice sleek and soft finish. I have type 3c hair and it does not mess up my curl pattern at all. I am able to go from luscious curls to sleek straight with a few pass throughs. My last flat iron was a Sedu that I've had for 5+ years. Unfortunately I broke it when using it in Europe, so I opted for a couple cheaper brands to see what else was out there (even though I LOVED my Sedu). I tried the HSI Professional, Sedu Revolution and the Babyliss Pro Ultra Thin to compare them.. ultimately, I kept the Babyliss. Note: I have Asian hair; very coarse, thin (volume wise), and layered ALL over. So many layers. This review is based on my hair and may differ for other types of hairs. PROS: - Super slim design. It keeps the ~1" width from top to bottom of the handle (most other flat irons taper toward the bottom to a bigger width). This thin width makes it VERY comfortable to hold in the hand (and I have small hands). Also this takes up VERY little space when traveling. - Heats up quickly; I never have to wait for it to warm up before using it - Swivel cord, and it's super long. - Smooth plates; it doesn't catch my hair or pull it at all. Most flat irons will pull/snag my hair but these plates do not! - Plates are 5" long, a lot longer than normal plates. This allows me to flat iron a lot more hair at once, making the process quicker - Long overall length. Initially I thought this iron was too long but it actually makes it easier/more comfortable to iron the back of my hair. CONS: - No auto shutoff - The temperature dial is just numbered 1-5 and does not show the actual degrees - My last Sedu came with a protective heat sleeve and this one did not - Is not designed to work internationally (dual-voltage) - The handles get very hot on the plate ends/middle. You have to be careful to hold the iron toward the bottom. I still think tourmaline plates give my hair better shine than these titanium plates, but due to the price, ergonomics, and smooth feel (no snagging), I opted to keep this iron. I like it! But it's not perfect (which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars). ... show more

I love it. I have been using a Babyliss brand hair straightener for 12 years, so I recommend this brand. I think the hair dryer is for use at home, not in the hair salon, but it does its job. I ordered on Amazon and I live in DR, and received it in perfect condition.
