I love the Oeuf Sparrow crib yet couldn't bring myself to spend $800+ on a baby bed. I searched everywhere for a grey crib with a modern ascetic. I finally came across this Hudson crib and knew it was the one. My son's name happens to be Hudson making it that much more fitting. The wood is sturdy and of very good quality. The grey color is beautiful, although a little lighter than the Oeuf. The open slats on all four sides make it airy and comfortable for baby. It took us about an hour to put together and we had no problems. There are 4 different mattress height options. The crib sits low to the ground which makes it easier to get baby in and out without breaking your back. It comes with the toddler rail which is an added bonus. You have to buy it extra with the Oeuf at $200+. I am so happy that I found this crib. I would recommend it to any family. UPDATE: At 18 months my son figured out how to crawl out of the crib. I was so glad we already had the toddler rail as we had to do a quick change late one night to prevent my little guy from breaking his neck. It was beyond easy to unscrew the front panel of the crib and attach the toddler rail. It took us all of 10 minutes. It's a huge transition from the crib to toddler bed (for both baby and parents) but it was made so much easier because we could continue to use the crib he'd been sleeping in from the beginning. I am still so glad that I chose the Hudson crib over the Oeuf. It has held up very well and is in great condition after almost two years. I love love love this crib so far! I'm expecting my first child November 2014 and my husband and I purchased this crib a few months into the pregnancy. He put it together right away and said it was easy to do (I think it only required an allen wrench). The crib is a gorgeous gray color (true to the picture) and went perfectly in the nursery. I paired it with a gray dresser from Ikea that happened to be the same color. The crib is very sturdy but not too heavy (I can push/pull it on my own, but it's not so light that it moves all over the place). The only bedding I have for the crib is the mattress protector and fitted sheet- no bed skirt or bumper- and it looks very modern, clean, and simple. I was looking for a gray crib that looked modern and this one kept coming up on Google searches. After carefully considering its design and its size I ordered it and I am glad I did. I have had this crib for 6 months now and people always comment on its clean lines and color. The crib was fairly simple to ensemble, the instructions it came with were clear and I was able to put it together in about 45 mins. Also, I love the fact that one of the sides can be replaced with a bed rail so that it can be used as a toddler bed. I LOVE this crib! It is stylish, beautiful, sturdy!!! It is everything you might want! We have been using it for 2,5 years now! It is very comfortable for mom and baby. You just need a good mattress! Mattress height can be adjusted for different age and size. We used it as a crib for the first year and then converted it into a toddler bed. Works great both ways. My daughter is rather tall for 2,5 and I only now star thinking about a bigger bed. I feel kind of sad to put this one away. Easily assembled, well made, light and easy to move. Great colour, nice change from usual white. Lacquer is emits quite strong smell so room needed to be well ventilated for a few days. Well packaged with corner protectors, etc, survived courier to other side of the world in tact. And I gather Made In America which is great to see! My daughter is now 18 months so this crib has gotten a fair amount of use. First off, it looks beautiful in any nursery. It has held up well, but does scratch easily. We moved about 6 months ago and the crib definitely sustained some scratches in the process, but not anything too noticeable, and besides, who really looks that closely at a crib anyways? Everyone is looking at the cute baby inside! This crib also is great for the shorter mother who may have trouble reaching into the bigger style cribs. This product is mostly preassembled and the instructions are fantastic, had it built in less than 20 minutes. Appears to be high quality, easy to clean, safe, and sturdy.
