After 13 years of having multiple dogs going in and out all day, it was time to install a new dog door. The installation was easy, mainly because the cutout was already there. The insulating flap was a game changer, it prevents cold or hot air from coming into the house when not in use. I'm glad we chose this particular brand. I love the fact that the frame and the closing panels are made of metal and very sturdy. We have a very stubborn bull terrier mix who thinks he can make his way in or out when the panels are closed. He tried it several times with the old wall-mount door and ended up chewing up the corner of the plastic panel. He also pulled out and destroyed the flaps. Additionally, I noticed that the insulating flap muffles the noise when the dogs are going in and out. ... show more

I bought this small pet door for our three cats to get in and out of their new catio I installed on the deck. It is well made and a great value at this price. I did modify the installation as I prefer a stud on one side of the opening so I can use wood screws to fasten to the 2 x 4 wall stud. I was able to insert a 16” long 2 x 4 in the wall cavity on the opposite side to avoid using toggle bolts. I’ve got the flaps removed to get the cats used to it then will install them one at a time after a few days of use. ... show more

The door was very easy to install, is all made of metal, including the security door which is the main reason i chose this one. The security door can be placed on either side (both sides have the locking latch)and they also sell the door separately in case you want a 2nd one which is great. Mine is installed on an exterior wall with zero coverage from rain and elements, we've had several heavy rains and zero water has come through so far Cons: 1. When the security door is slid open and locked in place, it sits crooked because the latch is on one side, not a big deal because i just completely remove it when open 2. The mounting screws it comes with are crap, i snapped the heads off two of them while installing, so i would highly recommend using better quality screws Overall a great product and I definitely recommend it ... show more

I bought this doggy door for my 3 Labrador retrievers so they can take themselves outside. This was the best door I could find without spending $5-600+. It seems pretty well made and durable. I did have to return the first one as the corner got bent during shipping. I live in PA - so weather here is mostly cold and rainy. It was important to me to find a door that was energy efficient. There’s nothing energy efficient with a hole in the side of your house- but you try to find the closest thing to it. I had my dad who is a contractor install the door for me so I can’t attest to the installation part, but will report there was minimal swearing and only took about an hour to complete. Extra insulation was padded around the frame of the door and framed into the wall so it won’t budge over time and use. Pros: Built well The magnets are pretty strong Door flaps are thick Size is very big Looks very clean Cons: The metal door- why is it only notched on the one side beats me. I will say I’m glad it came with the hardware (the thing with the spring that holds the door up by the notch) as we just added it to the other side with a second notch so the door isn’t crooked, I added a photo. Bonus- it adds a layer of security as the door can only be opened from the inside. Unless you break it from outside in. The magnets seem to not want to stick when they get a little dirty, so I have to wipe them with a wet cloth from time to time. Things I can’t really comment on at this time, but will update after a few months of use: The door flaps- yes I had them as a pro, but being in PA in January it does get pretty cold. I noticed the flaps get very stiff and with a breeze will not magnetize and cold air flows in. You can see this door was build in a closet, so I’m able to close the door and not feel the draft, but if you plan on buying this door please keep that in mind. It could be that after some use this may not be a problem as the material stretches and becomes more fluid- but it’s at least worth mentioning for the time being. Update- June 11th 2024 I have returned! It has been well over a year since I had this doggy door installed. This has been my primary use of letting my dogs outside every day since install. A few key takeaways since my initial review- The flaps have not gotten fluid with use and age, so when a breeze comes along or when it gets cold, they do open up and air does come in. If this is a big deal for you, I’d recommend getting stronger magnets to help the flaps stay closed. This has been easy to clean over time in terms of mud and dust. Nothing has broken down and it’s holding up incredibly well over the use it’s endured in the last year and a half. I should mention, I have 3 Labrador retrievers ranging in size from 60 to 95 lbs, the door is more than big enough for them to use. As someone who is 5’7” and 190 lbs, I can crawl through this door. This was purely for review reasons and I definitely did not accidentally lock myself out of my house… Overall- the door has held up to my expectations and I’m looking forward to many years of use and freedom for my dogs to relieve themselves or sunbathe. By no means is it perfect, but for the price, quality, and rigorous Lab testing that this has been put through it is well worth its price point. ... show more

I just installed this today so I can’t leave a review on longevity or weather issues or anything. What I can say is it was relatively easy to install (with the right tools and someone who kind of knows what they are doing when cutting into walls — a friend, not me). It probably took us an hour and a half total time. The only thing I’d suggest for the install is to provide your own hardware! We had two screws break off in the stud and one screw bend in half. We ended up just using our own in the end with no more issues. And hardware is cheap. Even with two flaps and it being much higher than the suggested shoulder height measurements because we had to work around base boards and trim my dog has no issues going through the door. ... show more

We got this 3 flap doggy door to replace our current one, and wow its worth every penny. This door is 10x better then the one we got from Home Depot. Our old doggy door was letting in the Az heat along with flies. So we bought this door and its so much better in quality. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Its very strong and durable and the flaps are very thick and keeping the hot air and flies out of here. It has 3 flaps and my 100 pound chow fits thru good! We had no problems installing it and it came with all the screws and seals up great! Definitely recommend! ... show more
