1. Forget the Template (It's Way too big)!! Measure yourself, inside and outside are difsferent, add 1/4 margin. make it a tight, removeable door w/minimal spray foam. Large flanges really want to be mounted against Flat surfaces (Not Siding). I Added a 1" frame from decking board frame the same size as the flange around the outside, and installed the vinyl siding c channel outside of that. Very tight seal, either side removeable. 2. It's really Two Flaps with One having an Extra insulation layer. A third physical flap would add a lot of friction for Bowser to move thru. 3. I put the Metal Security door on the inside, and added HD Screw Eyes and 3/8 steel bar that clears the door for security when away. Easy install remove when needed Might be good to buy a second door for the outside? 4. The 3 sided Magnetic Catch on both flaps seals it TIGHT! A HUGE Upgrade from the Single catch on the bottom of much cheaper brands. The Flaps themselves hopefully last a long time. Cheaper flaps seem to tear out after 2 or 3 years. 5. Enjoy!! This dog door is well worth the money. I have 3 dogs ranging from 60-115lbs and they went through and broke multiple other brands before I decided to splurge on this one. It is all metal and perfect sized to be able to attach both sides to a stud. 10/10 recommend.

I don’t think id change a thing with the construction of the small one they have, and I’d bet the larger sizes are just as stout. This is a well-built unit. I honestly think I will get back most of my money in heating costs with this unit. My old sliding glass door one was horrible. You can stand next to this one with high winds when its cold and not even know the door is there. Installation was simple even though I had to go through stucco that was as hard as concrete but I’m a handyman, so I probably don’t see the issues others have. I used an angle grinder with a diamond blade to cut through the stucco if anyone is wondering. I think the blade was $6. A little spongy gasket material would have been nice for the flashing on the exterior, but I had some leftover from another project. I recommend this product for sure. ... show more

Not usually a review guy but this is a great full wall dog/cat door. I've used a few of different brands that are usually plastic, alot of pieces and not as nice. This door is also very easy to install . Comes with all hardware needed. Money well spent!

I bought this doggy door for my 3 Labrador retrievers so they can take themselves outside. This was the best door I could find without spending $5-600+. It seems pretty well made and durable. I did have to return the first one as the corner got bent during shipping. I live in PA - so weather here is mostly cold and rainy. It was important to me to find a door that was energy efficient. There’s nothing energy efficient with a hole in the side of your house- but you try to find the closest thing to it. I had my dad who is a contractor install the door for me so I can’t attest to the installation part, but will report there was minimal swearing and only took about an hour to complete. Extra insulation was padded around the frame of the door and framed into the wall so it won’t budge over time and use. Pros: Built well The magnets are pretty strong Door flaps are thick Size is very big Looks very clean Cons: The metal door- why is it only notched on the one side beats me. I will say I’m glad it came with the hardware (the thing with the spring that holds the door up by the notch) as we just added it to the other side with a second notch so the door isn’t crooked, I added a photo. Bonus- it adds a layer of security as the door can only be opened from the inside. Unless you break it from outside in. The magnets seem to not want to stick when they get a little dirty, so I have to wipe them with a wet cloth from time to time. Things I can’t really comment on at this time, but will update after a few months of use: The door flaps- yes I had them as a pro, but being in PA in January it does get pretty cold. I noticed the flaps get very stiff and with a breeze will not magnetize and cold air flows in. You can see this door was build in a closet, so I’m able to close the door and not feel the draft, but if you plan on buying this door please keep that in mind. It could be that after some use this may not be a problem as the material stretches and becomes more fluid- but it’s at least worth mentioning for the time being. ... show more

We actually separated each of these units into two separate units to use in conjunction with a spring loaded metal door that we already have in place. This doggie door eliminates most outside air and insects from coming in when the outside door is opened. They are sturdy, well-designed, and reasonably priced. The entire unit used as a single doggie door should also be very effective. ... show more

Everything with this dog door is impressive! We replaced an old unit in the wall & opted to change to this Baboni brand. The product quality & ease of install were both a nice surprise. Our 2 large dogs ~ 70 pounds are using it (Large Size) without issues & haven't missed a beat. The room by this door feels warmer than with the previous 2 flap door. We do not hear the dogs using the door, even when they fly through it to chase rabbits! The old door would make banging sounds when the dogs sped outside, but this unit is quiet. I really love the metal construction & look forward to longer service life than the plastic units we had before, which were comparably priced but routinely broke within a few years. Another nice touch is how the latching metal cover works inside or outside. ... show more
