    You read on here all the time - I don’t usually do reviews - I’m really that person. But when shopping for a self tanner I truly relied on reviews to help me decide what was going to work best for me! I was terrified before the first application - what if I stain streaky? What if I turn orange? What if this gets all over my clothes! After scouring the internet about this particular clear gel product here’s my run down so you don’t have to waste four hours of your life putting all the pieces together - I did it for you. 1. This product is well worth its weight in gold - over and over and over. For every single day im not naturally sun kissed bronze - b.tan clear gel is my go to. 3. Invest $5 in a box of latex gloves. Those work hand over fist better than any tan mit they sell and they don’t absorb and waste the product. 2. Lather one limb at a time in a post sun lotion I used the green hawiaan tropic post sun lotion. One limb at a time. Then when it’s semi dry add the clear gel. Left leg lotion. Left leg clear gel. You get the picture. The lotion helps distribute the product evenly. I have zero splotching or streaking. Like ever. 3. Light layer of lotion on tops of hands and feet, then clear gel with a flat make up brush. Brilliant results. 4. Light layer of make up brush applied gel on the face, neck and shoulders. 5. When your done dispose of the gloves and wash just the palms of your hands so you don’t have bronze arms and pasty hands. 6. Air dry and then literally move about your day. No transfer. No fuss.     Bought with a mitt, first time using one and it really is smoother application and results than using just hands. Very happy with my slight golden tint. I’d tried b.tan forever before and it had cool undertones which might work for some skin tones but looked like bruising on me (I’m fair, blonde, blue eyed). This clear gel was easy to apply, not sticky or greasy, dried quickly, can’t transfer as not tinted, with less noticeable smell. Most importantly it looks like a natural golden tan. One application was enough for my face to look sun-kissed, color was noticeable on my legs but I wanted more there so used two days in a row, now happy with that color.     The b.tan Clear Self Tan Gel gives a beautiful, streak-free tan that develops quickly and feels lightweight on the skin. It’s transfer-resistant, which is a huge plus, and I love that it's vegan and cruelty-free. However, the only downside is that the smell becomes less pleasant after a few hours—kind of like a typical self-tanner scent.     This is the best self tanner I’ve used and is very cheap for how much you get. I moisturize with coconut oil prior to applying. Then I use one pump for each section of my leg and make sure to evenly apply. I have also used on my face and it didn’t cause any irritation. This smells pleasant and not too strong, and gives me some color without turning out orange. I have not experienced streaks or unevenness.       • Easy to use but not perfect

    This product works pretty well until the first wash in my experience. I'm very pale and wanted just a little color for the summer so I gave this several tries over the last few months. Here's what I found. Pros: •Very easy to apply (highly recommend the mitt) •Dries fast and isn't as uncomfortable to apply as lotion •The color did look very nice on my pale skin and gave me a huge confidence boost (except for the face, I had to buy the shade lighter to not look orange but that worked perfect.) •Will be pretty even the first day/two •The bottle/pump is nice (and just looks cute) and will last several tanning sessions. Cons: •I could never get it to look right on my hands/feet. I tried several times w/ and w/o moisturizers. It got very dark around the edges of my feet and between toes even with exfoliation. •The tan seems to wash off the shins really quick and it's almost like it slides down and makes my ankles darker instead? •It does START off smelling really nice but it quickly turns into a weird smell once mixed with body chemistry. Not terrible except for maybe in armpits/where you sweat. I stopped doing armpits to avoid that smell. Small complaints: •I really wish it lasted a little longer but it only lasted a couple days on a beach vacation when I needed it most. •The mitt they included was kind of cheap and got a small tear somewhere in the lining almost immediately and now it gets wet inside too which isn't ideal. Overall it is easy to use and my preferred way to get a little color right now, but with the imperfections and short tan life I don't bother with using it except for on rare occasions now. ... show more

    I prefer lotions over mousses and foams. There are few lotions that are express, so I tried this out. It’s SO good! I put lotion about 30 minutes before. It doesn’t streak, it dries quick, and it doesn’t run when it’s hot outside. I haven’t seen it transfer on clothes or sheets either. With lotion, it still looked a bit patchy around my ankles but nothing too embarrassing. When I reapply I’ll add more lotion after. It’s not super dark (I ordered dark color). I will apply another coat the next day moving forward. I will order ultra dark next time also. I’m very fair skinned and the color is nice! Not orange, and not too dark. ... show more
