    • The connection spring that holds the bolt came apart!
The spring came off for the connector spring came off and the bolt is not going back in this is the first time in using this product !!!! Very disappointed.

The media could not be loaded. A compression check helps identify damaged pistons, worn rings, burnt valves, and blown head gaskets. Skips, lack of power and bad noises are all symptoms that might warrant a compression check. It's also a reasonable way to check for engine wear, especially on two stroke engines. I've had an analog compression tester for years but came across a SeaDoo jet ski that had angled cylinders and was unable to get my tester into position because it used the rubber-tipped aluminum tubes instead of screwing into the spark plug hole, so I acquired this one. It worked out ok. I forgot take pics when I checked the jet ski so I used it again testing a Yamaha Rhino just to demo it in action. This compression tester works well and offers more accuracy than my analog version although it seems to me that accuracy is not super important. Usually, I'm just checking to make sure the compression is within 10 pounds or so of specifications and that multiple cylinders are all within 10 pounds or so of each other. I do find the rubber tipped type to be quicker and easier to use, and I believe it might be problematic to get the screw in type like this one, started, when the plug hole is really deep. (Try testing a Prius sometime.) I think it would be nice to have the rubber tipped adapters included. I also tried testing a 2005 Yamaha Wolverine and found that neither of the three adapters would fit. They were all too large. The rubber type are universal. One last thing, the analog type do not need batteries and for me, a compression tester is only used two or three times a year and batteries tend to go bad and leak after a time. I do a lot of work on small engines and when working on older stuff, sometimes it's not just a plug or a carburetor issue. Well this handy tool is perfect for running a compression test, before I start tearing stuff apart. Easy to use and read the digital gauge, and quick to check compression to determine if I even need to try and start a repair. Well, this practical gadget is ideal for performing a compression test before I begin disassembling things. The digital gauge is simple to use and understand, and it checks compression quickly to see if I even need to try and start a repair. I repair lawn mowers as a leisure activity and often have neighbors bringing over mowers in various states of disrepair. I frequently need to do a compression test on the engines to get a better idea of the condition and this makes the job easier to do. The light up display allows for easier viewing of the compression values even in lower light situations where the old analog one could be difficult.
