Who knew? I thought my little quilted jelly jar was perfect for storing bacon fat. This enamel-on-steel can is actually better. The mouth of the can is larger even than a regular-sized jar, safer and easier when straining the grease. The lid is secure, the can stays on the counter and in the fridge equally well, the design is perfect without being "cutesy". The colors are such that they're a good match for any kitchen decor. I believe it only holds two cups which is disappointing because as a Southern we use and save grease like fine silk. Outside of the size, it is highly practically and very pleasing to the eye. This product looks quite well in this small kitchen. With other recently purchased items, it even looks, charming and quaint. I love this product. It's a little smaller than I anticipated but that's my fault because the size is clearly depicted in the description. It holds plenty of grease it's just not as large as the giant plastic coffee tubs I usually use. It looks so cute I left it out on the counter instead of storing it under the sink. The lid removes easily and doesn't stick. I love that it's not plastic. The hot grease mixing with plastic is cancer waiting to happen.
