EDIT: 9/8/24 I had to come back here to update, cuz I was contacted by Hana from Customer Service (CSR), and she handled my concerns like a boss, totally professional, and in the end, I was sent a total replacement kit due to the unavailability of a replacement controller that apparently was faulty and that caused the wheel to lock up... Thank you Hana for going the extra mile for me to resolve this, and I appreciate your help in this matter... I am looking forward to getting back on the road again... Anthony I really liked this unit when I first got it, and installed it... I managed to get about 120 miles of use with it before it suddenly stopped working and left me stranded a few miles from home cuz it felt as tho' something internally gave out and was dragging and causing the wheel to no longer roll freely, somewhat like a bearing going bad on you... The throttle indicator lights remained on (red, yellow, green), but when the throttle was engaged, there was no response... After managing to walk home with it, I flipped the bike over, and tried to turn the front hub by hand, and it was hard to spin, as tho' it was dragging on something... So I started to disconnect the wiring harness, and when I disconnected the 3-wires to the block (blue, green, yellow) the wheel spins freely... My guess is that the controller is bad, or the wheel motor, or both... I'm going to have to replace the unit, and this time I will try someone else... ... show more

I bought this kit 2 yrs. ago and it has worked well. It's got good torque and speed. It's pretty basic with 3 lights to tell you the battery charge and doesn't come with a display. But if you want to get into ebiking cheaply I highly recommend it. You will have to get torque arms for each side, otherwise the axle will spin in the forks ripping the wires out. ... show more

I bought a fancy electric bike a couple years back and really enjoyed having one but moved and had to sell it. Currently I already have a fairly nice pedal bike and wasn't up for spending a pile of cash again on another ebike so I thought this might be a fun project and good alternative. I bought this kit along with a 48v 13mah lipo battery (frame mount) and found a beat up old Trek that had a great frame and was pretty light. I cleaned up the bike and had this kit installed in about 2 hours. If you have some basic mechanical skills this kit is super easy and you really don't even need the instructions. Everything is pretty much plug and play. (Besides wiring up new connectors for battery) Note that as of now I didn't bother using the motor cut off brake handles, the minute you let off throttle it shuts down fine. On my first power up everything worked as expected and this bike really gets moving with motor alone. I'm 200lbs and would say easy 25-28 mph flat and even pulled me up a steep hill at a good clip with motor only. As a pedal assist it really makes biking easy and for being all in around $700 ($100 for bike, $260 for battery) I am quite happy with the purchase. ... show more

this 48v 1000w electric front motor wheel had bad controller that dose not work! it is junk so now I have to find one that will work and I have bot eight of them and all of them did not work. I don't know if they are new or used. so this controller in this 48v 1000w electric front motor wheel kit did not work! just junk. the motor wheel does work I tasted it with my ebike testing device and the wheel works good it's the controller that junk it not work! from JAMES some you have a nice day. ... show more

1. Now my review might be harsh at times, but this kit is not user friendly, I bought it but then thought "oh pedal assist and display would be nice, can I add it" NO! Controller is specifically designed in a way so that you can't use those features, then I thought "oh, maybe I can contact seller can provide controller with such inputs" again NO, seller says "oh we recommend you to buy an entire new kit that includes those features", so yeah, if you want kit with display seller offers you to buy the entire kit again. If you would like to have those features you should spent another 100-200$ on separate controller and display. 2. This kit(REAR) claims to be for 135mm dropout, but my purchase with it's spacers doesn't fit into 135mm dropout, ok i remove the spacers, it fits but it's not equally spaced, i mean wtf, you cant even make a kit that equally fits onto bike, I think this can be adjust but it's such an inconvenience and rises the question if they cant even make kit that fits into bike normally is it even safe to drive it? It's like it was made by amateurs, not professional. 3. add another 100$ and for 400$ you will find kit that has display, is waterproof, has all basic stuff needed including arm torques(dont forget to put them anything above 500W on a flywheel is a potential disaster for you and your bike without them) I will revisit review because the battery I ordered hasn't arrived yet, so I haven't tested this motor fully, but this points are red flags for me and I would avoid this motor, even if it's perfectly working after customization, there is some basic shit for a product to deserve at least 2 star. If you are not new into ebike assembly and for some reason read my review you have to wait until i fully test the product xP, can't deny though it seems affordable Product was usable, I bought separate controller and dysplay, it was like a moped, buy if you are little experienced in electronic and bicycle tuning ... show more

This kit is pretty bare bones, doesn't have pedal sensing, regenerate braking, an LCD display or even a torque arm. but is very easy to install and quite powerful. I weigh 250lbs and my current disc brakes are rubbing and it still hit 34mph. I'm waiting on new brakes and will update my top speed when I can.
