I'm very careful to keep my car's tires inflated to the recommended PSI, and this usually required a trip to the tire store on a monthly basis. (They offer free tire pressure checks and inflate as needed, though I'd usually tip the worker $5 for the effort.) There have been a few times over the past year when the "Low Tire Air Pressure" warning light came on, as one tire has a very slow leak, which the tire store folks couldn't locate. While I could usually head to my usual tire store location, there were a couple of out of town road trips where I had to rely on the less-than-accurate gas station coin-op air hoses, and a glitchy tire pressure gauge. After doing some internet research, I decided on buying this AVID portable air compressor. I'm happy with my purchase, after several months of use, because: 1. It's super easy to use by following the included instructions. 2. The automatic tire pressure setting is accurate and reliable. 3. It only requires a minute or so to top off a low tire, and the fully-charged battery is sufficient to top off all four tires if needed. 4. The pump and accessories fit in a reasonably-sized carrying case, which in turn fits nicely in my vehicle's emergency equipment rucksack. (Typical behavior for a retired first responder.) 5. I have a known, extremely slow seep from one tire on my high mileage beater wagon that I dont drive all that much. This thing helps me extend the life on otherwise good condition tires, hopefully until they're worn or the car goes kablooey. Since it locks on to the valve stem, is cordless, and has auto shutoff, the inconvenience of airing up as needed is minimal. The tires may outlast the car. ... show more

I bought this compressor in January 2023 and it worked great till now September 2023 and the charger isn’t working. So I’ve had it nine months and now the charger isn’t working. ***update***. Contacted seller and they sent me a new charger. They went above and beyond to keep a customer happy.

I have two other portable air compressors/tire inflators in my other two vehicles, which are made by “SKEY.” Both work ok and get the job done, but the one from Avid comes with a cigarette lighter adapter as well. The best feature though is how quickly it inflates a vehicle tire. Twice as fast as the other two I have, and this one is of higher quality and is built much more solid.
