  • Decent for the price. Included tools are lacking, minor scratches/damage from shipping
Color: Matt Army Green Size: 50
For a first fixed gear the quality is pretty good for the price. Definitely had a lot of adjustments to make to get it riding correctly. I initially set out to build the bike with only the included tools but quickly had to find my hex wrenches and a 15mm wrench for the wheels. The included multiwrench thing was working great for the first few adjustments but the brake bolts, tension bolts, and some others were not adjustable with the included tools. The wrench that is provided is not quite the right size for the wheel bolts so I ended up putting some marks on the bolts as the wrench slipped. The lockring wrench actually did work however the shape of the tool made it uncomfortable to really tighten it down (waiting on a better wrench to arrive to really tighten it down). The the chain length is so short I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the back wheel off to flip it around to the fixed side. The brakes were the lowest quality part of the bike that took some time to get adjusted properly. The tire clearance also isn't as large as I was hoping for. Will try to get a 28c tire to fit but doubt it'll take any bigger. The front has more clearance, however. Overall it rode well after getting the kinks out. You will need a new chain if you plan on increasing the size of your cog or chainring as the initial length is just too short. There is next to zero information about this brand or this bike online so I will update with measurements if I can. ... show more

  • Mostly fine, some parts don't work well
Color: White Size: 58
The bike assembly went mostly fine, but I did have an issue with the reflectors. Front one went on fine, but unfortunately the rear reflector doesn't fit on the bike's fram or the bar of the seat. I really don't understand why the manufacturer would ship it this way. Rear reflectors are typically a legal requirement for bikes and should be included in purchase. A reflector that doesn't fit is useless. I had to buy a new one instead. Also, no kickstand is kinda lame. Had to buy that separately too. But the bike itself rides well enough. But you should be expected to put in extra purchases and work if you buy this bike. ... show more

  • 100 miles and satisfied
Color: White Size: 54
Bought this bike after some research on entry level Fixed gears and gave it a shot for the money I think this more than worth it. Quality and feel is good some things good be upgraded but for sub 300 dollars this is a massive improvement from the box store bikes. Rode it the for the trek century challenge and after 100 miles of ridding in 7 hrs I’m very pleased for a very affordable energy level bike. ... show more

  • Problem with bike, but Great customer service
Color: Matt Black Size: 50
Update: The company contacted me immediately upon seeing my review and offered a full refund without the added inconvenience of shipping the bike back. They advised this is an unusual situation and that the bike I received must have been defective. I have added 2 stars for their amazing customer service. I have been riding bikes all my life and have never seen anything like what I received in the Avasta Commuter Bike. I hardly know where to begin. I had no issue with assembly, as I have been assembling and taking apart bikes since I was 10. Let me simply say every aspect of this bike renders it useless for me. I even tried changing the seat and peddles as the OEMs are ridiculous. The seat nor the tires are appropriate for a commuter hybrid and the pedals are for a child's bike. After numerous adjustments, I found no way to get the brakes to work correctly. If your trying to get a bike on a budget as I was, I suggest going to Walmart. Since I have changed the seat and pedals, I can no longer return the bike and since I wouldn't give this bike to my enemies, I will be throwing $289 worth of metal in the provable garbage. ... show more

  • Nice Steel Frame Bike
Color: Matt Black Size: 47
For the money, this is a decent bike: Steel frame fixed gear with 700C wheels. I was not expecting much, but it seemed to hit what I wanted in a fixed gear urban commuter. It has the attachment points for carriers and fenders. The wheels and tires are 700x25 with presta valves and rated for 90-110 psi. The wheels are aero-profile needing longer stems (60mm). I was looking for cro-moly steel (4130) frame, but this is 1020 steel frame and less money. The weight is light enough. The rim brakes are decent. The brake pads are grippy but could be better for adjustment. I did need to adjust the pads to grip the rim in the right place. Tools and reflectors are included. The instruction book is universal, and not specific to this bike. The only thing that needs to be assembled here is the front wheel, handlebar, seat post, and pedals. Check the fit and tighten other bolts. The pedals are good enough and clearly labeled for L or R. Put some grease on the pedal threads when you put them on. I added a bell and a water bottle cage. The attachment points and hardware are good. Seat is comfy. The 47 cm seems to be a good fit for me as I like the smaller frame for stand over height and casual riding. I am 5' 9". I like it. ... show more

  • Great commuter
Color: Matt Army Green Size: 54
Light, fast, all metal, my only gripe is the paint job and finish. Scratches easy, and the aluminum gauges easy

  • Back to the essence of biking
Color: White Size: 54
The bike is just what I wanted. Functional for exercise and commuting, simple to maintain, stylish, visible on the road. I have ridden it a few hours now. Tires have high pressure for smooth ride. Racing style seat which is firm. Fly wheel and fix gear option. Pedals where good as well as the fork and handle bars. It has lots of connectors for racks and fenders if I wanted to add those. I ride in city park with hills and the single gear is a great work out. I also ride on flat land and can almost keep up with the road traffic. I might buy a few other bikes from this company to give as presents or to ride in a bike club. ... show more
