Shimano derailleur and trigger shifters made this a no brainer for a starter bike with gears for a kid. My little one is 5 and this fits him well with the saddle all the way at the bottom. He’s pretty advanced so I wouldn’t recommend this for very many 5 year olds but it fits him to where he can straddle the bike and feet touch the ground. The set up was very simple. You do have to tune the derailleur, set up and tune the brakes, etc so if you’re not good at that I’d recommend dropping it off at a bike shop and letting them do it. I work with my hands and tools for a living. A simple YouTube search and it was roadworthy in about an hour tops out of the box. Pleasantly surprised with how simple the tuning and set up was. The box came damaged and there is some rash on it as you can see here and the front wheel is slightly warped. I chose not to return it and it’s all working out great. ... show more

The bike came damaged. The gear mechanism and the front break were damaged. The front breaks were missing a screw. As I couldn’t get a response from the manufacturer for aid, I went to a bike store for evaluation, and they said it's more expensive to fix the bike than to get a new one. Manufacturers did a great job trying to prevent scratches on bike. Amazon delivery during prime week had to jam pack box product suffered minimal damage box was beat to hell. 9 year old daughter bought this bike she really likes it. Its a good set up for her age for learning to use shifters. Bike seems to be well built. One thing I wish the bike had is a guard for the derailer.

My granddaughter picked this bike out her self. When we got it I had to put it together THATS WHERE THE PROBLEM BEGAN. THE FRONT WHEEL WOULDN'T FIT IT WAS WELDED WRONG ON THE LEFT FORK!! I HAD TO HEAT IT THEN BANG THE FORK OVER FOR THE RIM TO FIT ON IT CORRECTLY. ALSO THE BIKE DIDN'T COME WHEN THEY SAID IT WOULD. WE SUGGEST STAY WITH AMERICA MADE. ... show more
