  • Very nice, surprised with how much we like it.
The media could not be loaded. So, I was a little skeptical of this after seeing another review, but i must say that so far my experience has been good. Please see the video review I left as well to get a full review. For starters, putting it together was easier than I thought it would be, even thought there was 1 part that was a bit tricky to get right, because I had never put together a bike with disc brakes before. The good thing, no, GREAT thing, is that the instruction book that comes with this bike is awesome. It's the best one I've even seen. It has some of the best illustrations and diagrams, along with great detailed written instructions. I wa able to do things that I never would have been able to do, and I didn't have to look up a single YouTube video for how to do it. I put together another bike from a different more well known brand 2 days after doing this bike, and it was nothing like this. I was lost and had to watch 5 videos, and still wasn't fully sure on a couple of things. I ended up using this book for that bikes parts! and it helped. The bike itself feels really nice and solid. The gears change easily and quietly, the wheels are silent when rotating, and it's just a good bike all around. We only use it for riding thru the park and around the neighborhood, nothing too crazy. I don't know about the $300 price tho. It feels that about same as the $200 bikes at Walmart. It also says to take it to a bike mechanic after putting it together, and that would add another 100 onto it, which I didn't do. I think you can pretty much do anything you need to on this bike, with the instructions that come with it. I gave it 5 stars because I don't have any complaints or issues so far, but I will update over time after some more use, if anything changes. ... show more

  • Honest feedback
Like most people who are ordering a bike online, I am no expert when it comes to bicycles, so this is my feedback as someone who uses their bike recreationally/to commute. Upon arrival, I noticed the box was light, and thats a great sign. It means the bike will be light. I took it out, everything looks very nice, though you can tell it's a cheaper bicycle, and the instructions seemed relatively straightforward. Now, my bike seemed to be partially assembled. If this is indeed how they arrive, you'll be able to skip some of the assembly, and move on to what needs put on. In my case, that was the front wheel. I got everything assembled within an hour and I took it for a spin around the block. Terrible. There was a loud grinding sound and the bike wouldn't shift. It was frustrating to say the least. The bike held up for the short 1 mile spin through my neighborhood. So I referred to the instructions, which state to take it to a bike shop for a tune up. Tune ups at my local shop run about $100, which is fine, since I am testing the bike out to review it. It wouldn't hurt to put a little money into it. I took it to the bike shop and they got me right in, and took a look at the bike. After some tinkering, he got it to work somewhat well. He asked me how much I paid for the bike and where it was from. I explained the situation and he said "I'm so glad you didn't end up paying for the bicycle, because this is a really poorly designed bike." He told me that the cassette would always rub because it can't be adjusted. He was able to fix all the other issues with the assembly that I overlooked or had trouble with (getting the seat to sit right, the brakes not sticking, and the shifts working). He explained how most bikes have a guard that allows the shifting to take place smoothly and stops the rubbing. This bike does not though, and therefore it rubs, and it produces a bit of a grinding sound when shifted into certain gears. Even after taking it to a professional, the bike isn't a quiet ride, but it will work for exercise. I upgraded the seat, added a phone mount, and some lights to give it a more upgraded feel. It does work okay but this isn't the nicest bike in the world. It is somewhat comfortable but the handlebars sit very low. Even with the additions, I'd put this on par with a $200 Wal Mart bike. It isn't a high end bicycle and I think the price tag is a bit steep given the issues I encountered with the bike, and the noise it produced while riding it. This would be fine for young children and teenagers but as someone who enjoys the outdoors, this isn't going to cut it for trail riding, and thats a big bummer. As a Colorado resident, this would have gotten a ton of use had it been at least decent quality, but it is a low end bicycle with an inflated price tag. Bikes like this serve their purpose and given that others find it to be a good quality bicycle, perhaps I am in the minority. I certainly don't want to say this is a bad bicycle, but I am going to be honest about my experience. Size wise, it seems to fit me fine. I'm a 5'10" male to give you a size comparison. I would say this bike would be best for someone shorter-average in height. Someone tall may struggle with this, especially with the low handle bars. Depending on your needs, this could be a great bike for you. For those paying for it, I would hate to have the added cost of taking it to a bike shop, as that takes an entry level bike and makes it absurdly costly for the demographic buying it. ... show more
