    • High quality materials; a little glitchy.
Sturdy and high capacity capable unit that is easily changed from one ampacity to another. The phone app is hit and miss, but the charger itself’s display is easy to set and operate. The high ampacity wiring keeps the heat down and helps it operate more efficiently. A good value for the price.

The 1ft portion of the cable right after the charger, leading to the car, was heating up abnormally. This is safety hazard. So I returned it. The charging happened in the garage, over the night, a decent cold California night, shaded area, no other load (dryer) was on. So no reason to have the wire heating up. Otherwise, it'd work for the nicely designed bag, proper wire length and such. I think the wire AWG size might be a factor. ... show more

Just set up the charger yesterday, and put it to work last night. Put settings to 32amp, 240 volts. I could not be happier, and would highly suggest anyone interested - to take a look at this charger. It provides all information needed on the front of the Unit screen. And contrary to some comments, the app is extremely easy to get set up. It just takes a tad bit of reading the manual. For those looking for a high quality charging unit, that allows you to adjust the Amperage output for your desired charge time, this charging unit is about the best quality you can find. And for the price, this item cannot be beat. The charging cable is extremely thick, providing comfort of not overheating things while charging, and pushing 40 amps is a simple task. Regardless of how much you drive, with this unit, you can rest assure you’ll be back on the road the moment you awaken to a long distance drive.     • Good value 40A EV charger
Had this a few days, generally seems fine. I have a 2020 Chevrolet Bolt and had been using a different charger before that was more basic. I use the delay charge functionality in the car, set to complete charge at 6am. That doesn’t seem to be compatible with this charger though because the car determines to the nearest 15 mins when to start charging to hit 6am, it will start charging at the exact 15 mins point (00, 15, 30, 45) past the hour for a few mins. Then it stops, I think because it’s calculating the exact point to start charging to exactly hit 6am, then starts the rest of the charge. This charger though seems to after 60s of the initial “test” charge recognize it as charging complete and locks out (the lights change to charge complete) and then won’t let the car draw the main charge. It works fine on the “immediate” charge setting on the car. I haven’t tried the delay button on the charger yet but that needs me to calculate how long to delay the charging for and is a bit fiddly when the functionality is built into the car and works fine with a more basic chargers.     • Impressive portable charger
This charger offered more than I expected. The NEMA 14-50 plug has become standard for car charging locations, so if a place has one instead of a charging station it is important to have an adapter. This one comes in a nice case to keep everything tidy and protected. the back of the case is rubberized to help keep it from sliding around. The charge port connector has excellent build quality, and the entire unit is a high-quality product. The charging rate is displayed on the screen, or it can be paired with the app. Though not encouraged, if you have this adapted for a lower amperage plug you can lower the power draw directly on the unit.
