Not having to turn the vacuum on and off is a huge time saver. Not having the vacuum just run all day is a huge noise saver.

    • Works perfectly for my mid sized table saw and large dust collector.
This this works great for me. I was deeply concerned about the amperage involved. My table saw has a 15 amp motor as does my dust collector. Using this device forces me to put them on the same circuit and I assumed the breaker would blow. Turns out to not be the case. I guess because it staggers the time your tool (table saw in this case) start and the time it starts the dust collector. That's probably the only time the motors are hitting peak draw. I sawed up a handful of boards and this thing didn't skip a beat. I then connected my thickness planer and it also performed perfectly. I couldn't be happier. No more leaving the damned dust collector running because I'm too lazy to walk over and shut it off between cuts. ... show more

As someone who's invested a fair amount in their woodworking equipment, I can't stress enough how much easier this little vacuum switch device has made my work. It's perfect for my dust collection and other tools, and I've been more than satisfied with its performance. However, I do have one caveat. The backing plate, which covers the internals, is incredibly fragile. And yet, with such a great product, it seems like such a small problem - right? Wrong. With even a little bit of pressure, the backing plate will give - and trust me, that's just not worth the risk. I'm hoping the seller/manufacturer will take note and design a sturdier version in the near future. But until then, just be careful with it. Overall, though, if you're in the market for a top-tier switch device for your small woodworking shop, this one is a must-have. ... show more

I love this Otis automatic vacuum switch. It’s easy to use and works perfectly every time. I use it for my shop vac so can’t comment on connecting it to a dust collection system. I looked at a few of the other switches before purchasing this one and none were suited for my needs. Others were two plugs for vacuums and only one for tool. The Otis switch is designed so that two tools can be plugged in at once with the ability of either one to trigger the vacuum. I’ve used it on a variety of tools including my job site table saw and a small router table without any problems. I’ve dragged it around, dropped and stepped on it multiple times and still no issues. Lately I seem to be using my miter saw most often so the switch is now mounted next to the saw but still accessible so that I can reach it and plug in whatever other tool I may need. I like having the option to turn the switch to auto, off, or on. The shut off delay times also come in handy depending on the circumstance. I plan on buying a few more of these switches so that I can mount permanently next to stationary tools and have at least one that will be mobile so I can drag it around as needed. ... show more

    • Much needed device for health and easy clean up of saw dust
I just purchased it about a month ago, and so far, it is working as advertised. This is a device I never knew existed, but I'm glad I found it. The cord on it could be a bit longer for non-stationary miter saws, but it's fine if you're mounting it on a wall.
