My first try it did not work and I think the piece of wood I was trying to attach it to was warped and was putting stress on the door causing it to bend. Then I picked a better piece of board and I placed washers between the board and the door and I believe that took the stress off the door because it was not being forced to conform to the shape of the board I was installing it on. The video and insert do not look like what you get. Mine did not have predrilled holes the plastic is VER flimsy. It’s made out of toy type plastic. There is only an on off switch and it does not close when it should. Definitely wouldn’t purchase again. Spend the extra money for a nicer model.

It only has a sensor that detects light to open and close. If its cloudy or in shade it will close. if you have a light on near where the door is it will stay open. The door is a really flimsy plastic. It might work for someone but overall very very cheap.

This door works great for the morning. Several times at night it has closed before all the chickens were inside the coop. I still like it because of letting them out in the morning. You will need to make sure all chickens are in and night.

This is a great concept but not as durable from the material. It works but the elements in my hot climate will not allow to last. If this is in a shaded area with only chickens around that won't disturb it will work. But not a durable door. Great concept and good buy for price. But not for my use.

This door is very simple to install and operate. You will need a jig saw or sawzall to cut the hole. I'm not the best woodworker but I installed it by myself in less than half an hour. I was disappointed at first because I thought it didn't work but when I watched the installation video (qr code link in package) I noticed the guy flip a little switch under the battery case. Once I found that and turned it ON it works great! The door is small so only the chickens get in. I love that because it's too small for goats to get in to eat the feed and my dog to get in to steal eggs. ... show more

The calendar says it's Spring, but we're still getting snowstorms. And raccoons. So, tromping out at night to close the coop door and again in the morning to open it was getting annoying.
