  • Bullet proof and effective.Exceeded my expectations in every way.
All I can say is that it met or excceded my expecattions in every way. Clearly this is not your typical home battery charger. The fact that is charges at 5 amps and has six connections means this is built for serious business. Not to mention the cost. But frankly the cost is far less of a factor once you actually see and use this charger. Frankly, I bet there are a lot of BMW owners who would be thrilled to have this charger in thier garage. Considering the propensity for the newer BMWs to kill thier batteries because of under charging and since they have started using AGM batteries this would be a perfect application. A few days a month on this charger would save an owner a lot of aggrevation and money inthe long run. Back to the review. The first thing I noticed is that this thing is heavy. It pushes 40 pounds. Thats why the instructions recommend you mouth it to wall studs and is sized to help you do just that. From this point forward its operation is simple and intuitive. Hook up the battery and watch the lights. They will confirm that you have it hooked up properly and the status of the battery. If all is good it will start charging until the battery is at capacity and then go into maintenance mode. I tested two batteries, one of which I knew had a bad cell so it was a perfect test bed. I hooked it up and within about 2 seconds it signaled that I had a bad battery. The other battery was a heavy duty Interstate that is a spare for my wife's SUV that also seems to like to eat batteries. I did a simple test on the battery before hooking it up and it was low but probably would have still started a car. Threw it on the charger and about two hours later the charger was showing fully charged. Everything about the charger is heavy duty. The mains cord is heavy guage. The connectors are long and grip the terminals well. It's just a simple solid product that makes it easy to charge a lot of batteries quickly. This charger can also be set up to in a variety of ways to charge more batteries but I dont have the need for those features so I cant speak to how well they work. But if they work as well as the basic functions than you wont have any problems. One point to mention again. This charges at 5 amps. That is at leat four times most consumer battery chargers so it really isnt suitable for motorcycle batteries or anything other than car/truck batteries. But on those it works like a champ. This is perfect for a professional garage or serious car enthusiast that wants pro level tools. Ohh yeah, and possibly BMW owners... ... show more
