Got this unit to replace Juicebox. Only comments are that I wish I could control display on and off and I wish cable to car was not as stiff. Unit is in my garage but if it were outdoors the cable maybe very stiff in cold weather.

The media could not be loaded. The 50 Amp Smart (EV) Charger by Autel, is a very well made, high quality charger. It works great, weather your car can handle 50 Amps or only 12, this charger will leave you satisfied that you’ve got one of the best options currently on the market. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – This company makes great quality products. All the materials are very nice and it presents itself as top quality. I’d put this one in the top tier of the quality scale for home EV chargers and guess it’ll perform great for a long time. II. Installation – It’s a little unique in that you have to hardwire it to the breaker box, rather than plug it in with a NEMA 14-50 plug like many others. It’s more difficult than the plug in type if you already have the plug, but overall, it’s not that hard or complex, just make sure you know what you doing. I like the hardwired chargers like this one overall, because they eliminate the potential weak point of a plug that is not needed when hardwiring. III. Performance – With the ability to charge at 50 Amps, you can pull a lot of juice for a home charger. Most others are 40 Amp at best and my included Tesla charger pulls 32 Amps. This one stands out, because of its potential commercial usage, that allows you to access ways to charge per use or just be used as a personal charger. It functions great with a nice app, RFID cards, being waterproof and having intelligent features. The screen is big, helpful and provides a lot needed info. It also can charge at many levels below 50 Amps if your car can’t take that many Amps or if you want to set it up to charge only as fast as needed for better longevity of the batteries. Overall, this is a great choice in the world of home EV chargers, that really brings together a fantastic commercial or home charger. It’s super-fast at 50 Amps, with class and quality. You won’t be disappointed with this one, I highly recommend it. However, I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. If you’d find it helpful to see a very up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video! You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product.     • High end EV Charging Station for home or commercial use.
This is not my first experience with the Autel brand. I have used Autel public charging stations almost exactly like this one in Las Vegas at a hotel I stayed at. The charging station is robust and has app control. The app is not the greatest but it works pretty well. The build quality of this charging station is very good. If it was chosen by a major Las Vegas hotel property I also can trust it. The touch screen is pretty nice as well, you can use the screen to view current charging stats as well as control the current session. The only major complaint I have dropping the rating down from 5 stars to 4 is the extremely high price. However, it is certified for use indoor and outdoors. This charging station uses the standard J1772 connector, so if you plan on using this for a Tesla, you'll need the NACS adapter which should be included with all Teslas. ... show more

I should have gotten this EV charger a long time ago and have it installed on my home as it charges my EV fast and with the touch screen and the app, I am able to monitor it from anywhere. At home the screen gives you all the information you would want and more. On the app, you can see current charging status and can schedule the best time to charge to take advantage of lower power costs by charging at off peek times. This charger also incorporates a dedicated place to store the charger plug unlike others where you need to get a charing holder and some how wrap it around, this makes it easy as it is all contained in one piece for a professional look and organized well on the side of the house. The tip of it has a J1772 connector so if you're going to charge a Tesla or a NACS compatible EV, make sure you get an adapter. There is also some security incorporated as you can use an access card or the phone app to start the charging. Without one of these it will not start the charging process so no one can just pull up and steal your power which I like. Installation took about a good hour or so as special wiring needed to be installed and the electrician did an awesome job and looks very clean and ready to charge any EV that plugs into it with authorization. just having this installed in my home adds instant value to my property, so I think it’s a win-win despite the higher cost versus other chargers.There is a 3rd party billing option for multifamily or public locations so you could make some extra cash if you owned an apartment or multifamily housing. ... show more

This is a nice charger that has everything we wanted in a home charger. First off it was in our price range, It is a 50amp charger, and it has a heavier and longer cable as opposed to our old charger. WiFi was a must have and we are glad we got one with it. The plugs fit well and are not too tight or too loose. We have used it a nightly for a month now and we are happy with it. We upgraded from our old charger but kept it as a back up. I am very happy with this EV charger, it is everything I hope it would be. Install was very simple, I could tell it was well made and very well thought oiut. My EV loves it and I am getting the full 50 amps. This is QUALITY. The app is smart, the screen is easy to read in bright sunlight and it is of noticable high quality.
