I have been switching a lot of keyboards in recent years and the Aula F98 is definitely my favorite. The tactile bump from switches is subtle so it’s suitable for both office and home.

    • What a Cool Mechanical Keyboard!
I'm currently running a Roccat Vulcan TKL mechanical keyboard and love it. After setting up the AULA 99 Keys Keyboard? I almost put away my Roccat for the Aula! And that says something. The keyboard came nicely packaged and has some nice extras, like a few additional switches and a tool to remove keys. The keyboard is solid and well built. But what really got me was the SOUND when typing. The video here mentions the 'creamy sound', but that doesn't begin to touch the very cool sound these keys make when typing. I love the sound ... even better than my Roccat. Overall, the keys feel great to type on. The RGB lighting is nice, but I'd rather it synched with the rest of my system ... case, RAM, heatsink, fans ... all have RBG lighting that's controlled by software on my PC. My Roccat taps into this to ensure it displays the same colors as the rest of my PC. So far, I can't find a way to make the Aula do the same. Instead of software, there's a method via a function key to change colors, color brightness, and speed. The other main thing about this board is the 'south-facing' LEDs. The key letter/symbol is on the side of the key facing you instead of on top. Now, if these weren't LEDs, but printed, this would be cool because it means they don't get touched and won't rub off after constant use. But since they're LEDs, that's not going to happen. As a result, when the lighting is fading or cycling, it's sometimes hard to see which key is which. Sure, most of the time you're typing without looking at the keyboard. But there are times when I forget where a specific key is and I need to scan for it. In some cases, it can be a bit more difficult with them on the side rather than on top. Despite the lack of control over lighting via software and despite the placement of the symbols on the side of the keys, I'm still giving this board 5 stars because, frankly, it's that good. I really like the key sound and feel. And even with the number pad, it's not really much larger than my small formfactor ROCCAT that doesn't have a number pad. ... show more
