  • FOAMED-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION
  • METAL-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)

Description

Designed for asymmetric applications, the balanced dual asymmetric geometry provides a relatively low impedance over mass for richer, more dynamic sound. While many asymmetric cable designs use a single path for ground and shielding, bi-balanced designs separate the two paths for cleaner, quieter performance.NLong Grain Copper (LGC)Long Grain Copper (LGC) has fewer impurities and fewer internal grain junctions, reducing distortion and digital synchronization errors. A method of high-pressure welding is used instead of brazing. Since the ground shells are stamped rather than machined, the metal used can be selected for its low distortion rather than for its machinability.

  • Nice quality and a fair price.
Let's get this straight. We're talking about some wire here. It's got well made connectors, and is fat enough that it's not going to kink. A patch cord, which people today think can be improved by calling it an "interconnect" needs to be able to conduct electricity from one place to another. In audio applications, it is bad if the wire is so fine or poor that it adds much resistance. No problem here, the Audioquest is very good quality. It can be a problem if the connectors don't fit well, are corroded, or made poorly so that taking them on and off will make them loose. Again, the Audioquest has none of these deficiencies. There are some that think paying a crazy amount of money for a fancy named wire will make their system sound better. While I allow that is POSSIBLE for a very top quality system, I have found that if you buy decent wires, the weak component is almost always something else. Or even more likely, your source material. So, the AudioQuest Tower does exactly what it should. Makes good connections, is not going to fall apart, and while not the cheapest, is certainly far from silly-priced. Now go out and listen to some live music. ... show more

  • Mind blown
Have you ever wished you would have bought something in the first place? Well I do with this cable! I have had three other cables other than the towers and they are babies compared these. I received these today and read the nice looking package and realized what goes into making these different. I think the long grain copper is a great idea. The cable itself has a serious look to it and feels substantial. I really like the covered rca ends. The 1/8 inch end is super polished and well designed. They installed a little snug but not too tight. Then I choose a reference song and amazing! I was startled with the clarity of the music coming out of my rig! Absolutely perfect sound. The soundstage opened up twice as wide as before and much deeper back beyond my speakers. Pinpoint imaging and I would have to say much higher frequencies drum sound as though I can reach out and touch them. I am shocked that with one cable made such an improvement. MacBook, t amp, monster cable speaker leads and micca CB3's ear height about 6ft apart. ... show more

  • Not worth the price
Does cable make a difference? Absolutely, if your system is resolving enough. This cable looks good but sounds dull, i.e., killing dynamics and soundstage. My cheap DIY cable using Cat5 (2x24 awg) cable, cheapo RCA plugs from Parts Express and a little soldering sounds much better. If you're not a DIY type just buy cheap RCA interconnects from Best Buy or Walmart. No interest in spending big bucks on cables, that money is better spent elsewhere in the system (eg better DAC/amp/speakers) ... show more

  • The transparency and crystal clear sound
As a long time user of Audioquest cables, since 1994, with my B&W 804 matrix speakers and McCormak CD player I’m very glad with the transparency of the Tower digital interconnect cable.

  • Another good cable
The RCAs are quite good. No complaints except that I overestimated how long a meter is, but that's my fault. Audioquest is always solid.

As usual, Audiquest products work great and are superior to all others I have tried in terms of sound quality and reliability.
