    • Pathetic output, and embarassment for Audioengine
Huge disappointment. Was going to replace a small 10 year old sub under my office desk. It turns out the old pinnacle sub the same size produces 3x the volume than the Auidioengine toy. I own 6 subwoofers in various rooms, I have never turned any above 50%. This toy, turned to max, barely produces enough low end to be useful. I cross a sub in to not be overpowering, and I am listening to jazz mostly, but any sub that has to be set at 100% to even hear is totally inadequate. Look elsewhere, like Polk audio 8 inch. I am using audioengine speakers, which I love, but they failed on the subwoofer. ... show more

    • Clean and tight bass in a compact size
Surprised how compact the sub is out of the box despite knowing in advance the driver is only 6" (my other sub is a 12" SVS SB-1000). It fits nicely on a desk without taking up much space. I have it paired with a set of Edifier R1280DB speakers and it's a great match. It brings out the lower ends cleanly and fills a small sized room well even at 50% volume (about 80 sq. ft.). I have the sub crossover set at around 100Hz, which works fine for these Edifiers. As expected of a sealed subwoofer, bass is tight and not boomy. It should only get better over time as the driver breaks in. Build quality is excellent. The unit feels solid with a clean, understated look. Controls and ports are all in the back, which is perfect for a desktop setup. It's a great sub for a 2.1 or 5.1 desktop setups. Do not get this expecting to fill a medium to large room with clean and deep bass - it's just not big or powerful enough. For its intended use, I'd highly recommend it. ... show more

    • Small but mighty!
Loving this sub so far. I have two of them, hooked up to a set of HD3s and HD4s and couldn't be happier. Very strong bass and I only have it turned up about halfway.
