Description

This active stereo speaker is the obvious choice when you need a speaker to work equally well when watching movies on your TV as listening to music. You do not need to have two different systems to meet these two needs – the C20 will take care of both tasks for you, in one single compact solution. 190 W of power makes you experience the movie sound effects and really sense your favourite music throughout your whole body. The speaker delivers a rich and fullbodied HiFi experience, with powerful and heavy bass to get the party started. The C20 can be part of a multiroom system by joining other speakers via AirPlay 2, Google Cast or Audio Pro’s multiroom system. The speaker is compatible with all audio apps, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and has Bluetooth 5 built in. Connect your TV with ARC for easy control from the TV remote. This speaker has a RIAA amplifier built in. Meaning you are able to play music from your turntable directly into the speaker, without the need for a separate amplifier. You are also able to restream music to other Audio Pro speakers you have connected to a multiroom system. The wooden cabinet painted in either soft satin white, stylish grey or classic black blends in naturally with your home. The fabric front is fixed by magnets and can be easily removed for a more modern look, if this is your preferred design. You have the option of two very different looks.

  • Very high quality lifestyle sound device
Color: Grey
If you're looking for a stylish, good sounding and flexible wireless speaker, the Audio Pro C20 delivers on pretty much everything you'd need. Starting with the inputs, it has Bluetooth, Chromecast, RCA L/R line-in, Phono input (mm) w/ ground, HDMI and optical. So plenty of inputs to support most all of your devices and these can be selected via the top panel. Very impressed that they have covered almost every type of input for any device that you'd need/want to hook up. Outputs include a sub-out (RCA) in case you wanted to run an external sub. I am not sure what frequency this crosses over at. The finish is very high quality (I got the gray, which is a medium dark-ish matte color) with a darker gray magnetic grille and gold/platinum colored top control area. The enclosure is very solid, which should help with the sound as well. It looks the part of the price, which is important. No one will mistake this as a cheap speaker. As for the sound, it has a true left and right channel (verified via L/R channel test track), but shares the lower midrange/upper bass and bass notes with the single woofer in the middle. So while the tweeters have their own channel, with the upper bass blending into the woofer you don't get quite the wide soundstage that you'd get from a mid-woofer on each channel (or with separates). However, the sound itself is very nice and you can tell that there's some good power behind it...you can definitely energize your TV or family room with this speaker. The sound is smooth, non-fatiguing and easy to listen to. You can certainly tell that a lot of testing and tuning was put into the device because it sounds up to its price-point and not like a cheap bluetooth speaker. Bass is very deep, tuneful, and not bloated but it'll kick well if you play the right song. The woofer is a full 6.5" so it'll put out some bass. I downloaded and installed the official app and it allowed me to adjust the bass/treble and sub output. I bumped up the bass and sub some as it made the speaker sound fuller and larger than it already did (plus it helps with low-level listening acting like a pseudo loudness setting). I added the speaker via Google Home so that I could Chromecast to it (my preferred method via Spotify). However, Bluetooth worked and sounded well too. If you have a smaller area and cannot put a full sized HiFi system there this speaker would be a great substitution. It's not small, but it's not all that large either. I am using it in my home office and it does a fantastic job in that area, but I could easily move to my dining room, bedroom, garage, TV room, etc. and it'd do an equally good job there as well. Packaging is well done. Even if/when the shipping company drops it, it came to me triple boxed (amazon box, outer Audio Pro cardboard box and the inner colorful Audio Pro cardboard box where the speaker was). The speaker was wrapped in a cloth bag and surrounded by thick soft foam, with a thin protective layer between the grille and speaker itself. I'm not sure I'd consider it a "travel" speaker due to size and weight and how you'd camp with it I have no idea (maybe a cabin, but probably not a tent--remember, this does not have a battery in it, it must be plugged into the wall or power source) but otherwise it fits into most any decor well. The power supply is built into the device so there is only a cord and no unsightly external power brick. I called the C20 a "lifestyle" device because it's made to look appealing and modern yet provide good sound reproduction, which it does in all phases/areas. It's a competitive market as there are a lot of good sounding powered speakers and devices like this, but this one fills a nice niche with the copious amount of inputs, good sound and good looks. It's a modern hifi system compressed into a small good-looking box. Would I replace my proper hifi system with it? No. But if you are looking for a suitable all-in-one substitution this would be a really good choice. And it's vastly better than most of the "premium" bluetooth speakers on the market, both in sound and looks. If you want a premium speaker and are willing to spend the money on one I can definitely recommend this speaker due to the appearance, inputs and sound quality it provides. Edit: Additional thoughts and tests since I've had more time to listen: I ran some frequency sweeps and this unit plays very solidly down to 45Hz. With said 45Hz sound test, it had random objects in my living room rattling...it was that good. However, that's about where the low-end falls off. When running a 40Hz test, it's at least 8db down or so. But 45Hz should allow you to enjoy most songs and the bass is very, very good there. The soundstage is my biggest disappoint with this speaker. You have to be sitting right directly in front of it to get any kid of soundstage and what's there isn't spectacular by any means. I touched on this earlier and if you are a soundstage junky you might not thoroughly enjoy this speaker. I realize that there are limitations in a single enclosure as you cannot space the drivers far enough apart, but I think the primary thing holding this speaker back is the sharing of the low midrange with the single 6.5" driver. It does work well but it'll never be a substitution for unique L/R mid-drivers. Also, this speaker is a big large rectangle. It's finished with high-quality materials but nevertheless it is a big large rectangle. It fits into my decor fine but it's definitely a presence in its own right. Bigger speakers, normally, are better sounding speakers so I don't fault the designers for making it large as it certainly returns solid bass when the song demands it. And if you decide to use it as a TV speaker it's still about the same size as most center channel speakers so it'll fit right in. And it's large enough to not look funny when sitting next to a turntable or other HiFi component. Good large wireless speakers are few and far between (that don't look like beach/party speakers) so I'm glad there is a good choice in this genre. Still recommended if this speaker suits your living situation/desires. ... show more

  • A full feature speaker made for audiophile.
Color: Black
Don't let the photos sway you away from one of the best small to medium room speaker. This speaker isn't battery powered or portable. It's made to sit on a bookcase or shelf. Though it's not a bookshelf speaker. This speaker is currently sitting below my 55" Sony XBR series TV. There are numerous connections or ways to connect this speakers. I prefer the HDMI ARC. It's almost plug and play and setup is super easy. And also this speaker packs a punch that no other brands in this price level can match. Though it might plain Jane. Dont let the simplistic design fool you. This thing is loaded with features one a true audio can enjoy. If you're looking for a speaker to just play loud music and put out a lot of bass? Well this wasn't design for it. Like I mentioned earlier. This speaker sits below my Sony TV and it pairs it with very nicely. I was playing some classical music from Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi and omg, I never heard anything that is so rich and the mids has a warmth tone to it. The treble are sharp and crisp. Not tinny and non of that metallic sound to the highs. My living room is about 16x16 and it's not very big. But this speaker packs a punch with a full rich sounds that easily fills the room with a true sound that you don't get in many speakers. How does this perform? Well sound are very subjective but after owning other high end brands. This one amazes me I'm a way I'm starting to look at other models from Audio Pro. I'm truly impressed with this speaker and been playing all my favorite classical music on it. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a small to medium but not an open space design layout. This one speaker can do it all. Trust me, you won't be disappointed in Audio Pro. ... show more

  • Comparison of Audio Pro C20 to Sonos Era300 and Sonos 5
Color: Grey
I was looking for a wireless speaker for use in my kitchen and on my boat when planning a trip on the water. After listening to the Sonos Era 300, Sonos 5 and Audio Pro C20 here are my observations. If your preference is audio effects vs. audio quality, get the Sonos Era 300. Feature rich, spatial audio and least expensive, the Sonos Era 300 wins if sound quality is not the absolute priority. Sounds okay, big soundstage but not to my liking. The app works okay. Seemless integration with Apple Music worked well. I prefer my HomePods to the Era 300. My interest in Sonos as a single wireless speaker addition to my kitchen was prompted by a restaurant using a Sonos 5 in the dining area. While I went there to eat, I was immediately drawn to the low volume but full and satisfying sound coming from the Sonos 5. While I tried the Sonos era 300 first due to price and features, the model 5 sound is on a different level. Though the sound stage is not at the same level as the Sonos era 300 playing Spatial Audio, it still did a great job diminishing single sound source directionality with drivers in the enclosure stategically placed in different directions. The lack of bluetooth could be remedied by the use of a bluetooth dongle plugged into the line in jack on the Sonos 5. Sonos's support, over hour wait on hold and 2 day email response prompted me to keep looking. After some research and reading a few reviews on the Audio Pro C20, it sounded like a good option so I bought one. It competed favorably against the Sonos era 300 but sound quality vs. the Sonos 5 proved challenging with each speaker boasting strengths in different areas. I have an audiophile system that sounds amazing with great recordings and absolutely horrible with poor recordings. The Audio Pro C20 behaved similarly. Great recordings sound great, marginal recordings not good. On the other hand, the Sonos makes everything sound decent; not great but not bad. The Audio Pro is more affected by room acoustics. The Sonos 5 sounds heavy and bloated. The 5 has a tuning feature using the mic in your smart phone that does a good job equalizing. Mids and highs sound a bit muted but nonetheless detailed. Very good presentation at low volumes. Both speakers have bass and treble controls and a clunky but functional app. If the Sonos 5 had bluetooth, this would be a tougher decision. Poor customer support and lack of bluetooth from Sonos give the advantage to Audio Pro. Negative reviews I have read on the Audio Pro cite poor customer support as a major complaint so that may be an issue I was able to avoid. Bottom line, if you don't need a lot of connectivity options, you will likely be happy with either. If background low volume music is your application, the Sonos is likely a better fit. In the right room with good source material, I have to tip my hat to AP. If additional inputs affording the use of a record player or even an external DAC where the optical jack is needed, you will prefer the AP. Your application is key. They both excel in their respective areas of strength. Lastly, I found suspicious that all reviews on the AP are from customers who received free product through the Vine program. I can assure you that this review is for a product that was purchased. ... show more
